Come playoff time Region 7 teams will have definitely played the harder schedule. Even the bottom two teams will have played tougher competition week end and week out. I still believe Lake County has potential if they can get there defense figured out. Not sure who will finish 4th Gleason or South Fulton I imagine. Would love to see Mase vs Lake County in the first or second round.

This week's game is huge for Union City and Dresden winner will have home playoffs till the 4th round. Loser will probaly have to go to Memphis 2nd round to face Mase. If they win have to come back and play one another in the 3rd.  If healthy come the 4th round the winner no matter who they play will have more big game experience than any other school in the state. I like Region 7 winner to go play for a gold ball.

MASE and Lake County again?

Single A playoffs are going to be so fun to watch this year. I think there are  5-6 teams that have a shot to win it all. I can't really pick 1 or 2 of these to be the clear cut favorite. Moore Co. was my pick before the season started so I guess I will stick with them since they will have the best difference maker playing on their team.

I would say SP, Moore Co, Dresden are the favorite and could maybe, and it’s a hard hard maybe, throw MASE in there but I highly doubt it. Same deal as last year with them. Horrible schedule and won’t really know how good/bad they are until they play a quality opponent

All of you are sleeping on Union City. They maybe the best 1A team in the west.

Same as last year what semifinals beat every team they said they would lose to except the state champs!

Boy I tell you whoever comes to Memphis in the second round will see just how good MASE is.

MASE has more overall talent than any team in 1A or 2A. It’s not hard to figure that much out.

Which is why I said won’t know exactly how good until they play quality opponents. They may prove to be the real deal like they were last year but as of right now, they are still unproven

How does this year MASE team compare to last year? MASE was really good last year, but unfortunately last year they were on a collision course with Fayetteville / McKenzie. If they are comparable to last year they will have a good chance as well to make it all the way.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
