You beat me to this. I was just going to post what this mighty AI guru said.. but you already did so. As usual, you're way ahead of us all, especially ahead of & infinitely lapping this ol' hick from da sticks.

Yet another poll.  This one is a combination of multiple computer polls, merged into one, averaged out by the square root of the greatest whole integer, divided by the fraction of the lowest common denominator ... it's a whole lot of technical jargon.  Anyway, here it is:

1  Moore Co
2  S Pittsburg
3  Dresden
4  McKenzie
5  Union City
7  Clay Co
8  MASE
9  Gordonsville
10 Coalfield (tie)
10 Collinwood (tie)

Since this is from computer polls, it obviously takes into account only the numbers so far.  Every computer poll out there has (in my opinion) MASE ranked way too low.

The reason is MASE’s region schedule is weaker than even SPs the computers take that into account! Switch MASE with McKenzie and then switch Mckenzie with Clay at 7-8 other than those two moves this the closest poll I’ve seen how it’s gonna play out . The East is really down this year it’s SP or bust to bring a gold ball back to the Eastern side of the state.

Come playoff time Region 7 teams will have definitely played the harder schedule. Even the bottom two teams will have played tougher competition week end and week out. I still believe Lake County has potential if they can get there defense figured out. Not sure who will finish 4th Gleason or South Fulton I imagine. Would love to see Mase vs Lake County in the first or second round.

This week's game is huge for Union City and Dresden winner will have home playoffs till the 4th round. Loser will probaly have to go to Memphis 2nd round to face Mase. If they win have to come back and play one another in the 3rd.  If healthy come the 4th round the winner no matter who they play will have more big game experience than any other school in the state. I like Region 7 winner to go play for a gold ball.

Single A playoffs are going to be so fun to watch this year. I think there are  5-6 teams that have a shot to win it all. I can't really pick 1 or 2 of these to be the clear cut favorite. Moore Co. was my pick before the season started so I guess I will stick with them since they will have the best difference maker playing on their team.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
