I’ve watched the play a dozen times. Nose of the ball is 6-12” short of the 35. When 1 releases the ball his toe is just short of the 35 by inches. His right foot is on the 34. Rule is the entire body must be beyond the line of scrimmage when the ball was released. The down marker is also less than a yard behind the chains so the previous play was a loss but marked as less than a yard loss. The official that called it stood on the 36 pointing at the ground when explaining to the white hat. Overall it didn’t matter in the outcome but it was not the correct call.

I don't think that is the rule in NFHS. I believe their rule is both feet have to be before the "neutral zone".

I was there watching it live and Oneida's entire crowd was right down the line from that play and nobody from Oneida objected to the call. It was pretty obvious. He definitely threw it over the line of scrimmage. Ball was spotted right before the 34 and he definitely threw it past the 34 closer to the 35 for sure.

But it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. That game was over before the end of the 1st quarter.

Don’t know what the issue was but honestly the punt was a deal several weeks in the making. Long story short our long snapper hurt his elbow a few weeks back. He is also one of our sophomore LBs. Last night they had someone else snapping instead. After that snap our usual long snapper went back in so a lot of thing helped the wheels fall off early. Like you said to have a shot we had to play our best game. York sure didn’t need any help and the first quarter we definitely didn’t do ourselves any favors for sure. Either way we’ll learn and hopefully get better from it.

Ours went just as bad.Constantly put ourselves in 1st and 15 or 1st and 20 with silly penalties.Defense played well but Offense just killed all momentum.

Entire body must be across the line. If a toe is on or behind it’s a legal pass. Look again, nose of the ball is less than 12” from the 35, stripe marks the penalty occurring at the 36. It’s not a conspiracy, we just had very few big plays to Yorks credit, the two we did have both came back in penalty’s. The TD came back on a personal foul penalty against York lol. More of an illustration of how we couldn’t get anything going our way the majority of the night. Again I’m not claiming the officials influenced the outcome at all. The team that should’ve won did win, more of an illustration of how frustrating the game was from our side. Regardless it was a jab at the “reputation” of how calls go over there. I honestly don’t think it’s any different there than anywhere else to be honest. Some crews are better than others and some teams play with fewer penalties than others. It all evens out. More something to talk about because we didn’t have much to talk about last night.

It’s a bang bang play and honestly it coulda went either way but the game already 28-0 that’s one of its that close I ain’t callin anything. It’s over we lost nothin can be done now. It’s round ball season for Oneida now and I got a feelin they gonna take some bumps in that as well with the new region.

You know the ball wasn’t at the 36 anyway. So the refs didn’t even mark the penalty off from the correct line of scrimmage. It’s always that way down there and like many know we wasn’t the better team and the better team won but Is what it is.

If the rule isn’t what I understand the it absolutely would be the correct call. My understanding is if any part of the player is at or behind the line it was ok. His left foot was definitely beyond but his right was not.

Totally agree it did not impact the outcome. Between our mistakes and their execution we were had very early in this one.

I didn’t see yours but the fist quarter for us was an absolute disaster. I’m not saying we rolled after that but that first 12 minutes was brutal. We couldn’t keep from handing them gift after gift. On top of that they just beat us to boot. Bad combo.

Yeah wish they would’ve let us play up. I think we could’ve competed better a classification up than we will where we are.

Yeah an officiating crew from another region is prejudice. My goodness you didn’t even come watch your team. Quit whining it’s over.

I’ve always heard that but to be honest I haven’t actually saw that to be true. Sure some calls were missed but I can’t say it was more one way than the other. We got obviously held several times with no flag but we also didn’t get flagged several times when we were obviously holding them. Overall it seemed like a good called game to me. A few calls both ways that maybe could’ve been called or not called but the stripes were not a factor last night in the overall picture.
