If it was up to the judge l think you are talking about, he actually was against hiring Mathews the first time around. He wanted Knox Catholic to hire Mark Pemberton again. He said Pemberton was hard to get along with but he thought Pemberton was a hard nosed physical football coach. The judge thought that was the kind of Coach Knox Catholic needed.

Pemberton’s style wouldn’t have attracted the talent Matthews brought in during Catholic’s state title runs.

Knox Catholic has the worst leadership of any school in this division. They will never have the financial resources as the other DII AAA schools; however, they can’t get out of their own way. The leadership has had MULTIPLE coaches in almost every sport in the past three years. From what I heard Matthews got tired of the horrible leadership here. The hiring of shadowers is further proof of this. Football team will not recover from this latest blunder.

So Shadowens style will attract this talent? Plus the state title runs were recruited players playing in the public division. Mathews never recruited enough talent to win a state championship in the private division you all should have been playing in. You all at Knoxville Catholic can't compete for a state championship in the division your playing in now.

Didn't Catholic make the semis this year? Asking for a friend...

Kinda related. I think Knox County public schools being so good at football right now is making it more difficult on all the private schools because so many kids are playing in Knox Co.

though there are few compare to the other citys in TN.....Catholic North is not the torch bearer and bench mark for private school football

Booger just sayin

Looks like Knox Catholic has been rolling out the NIL money with all of these collegiate level announcements of continuing the academic and athletic career for multiple athletes.  Everybody is chasing the worldwide recruiting machine at McCallie. To have any rule about recruiting in this day and age is way behind the times.  The movement is, whatever is in the best interest of the athlete and family, goes.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
