These are just my opinion on the current rankings. I had to use a lot of common opponents when looking at teams to get an idea on this, so it is definitely flawed. Also, I believe that teams 2 through 8 could beat each other on any given day, so I don't believe there is that much separating them.

1. Stone Memorial

2. Hume-Fogg

3. Tennessee High

4. Fayette Ware

5.  Jackson South Side (Have only played 9 games, otherwise I would have them in the top 3)

6. Jackson North Side

7. Upperman (I expect them to move back up, but that loss to Stewarts Creek is why they are down here for now)

8. Greeneville (Record doesn't show it but look at common opponents within East TN and I think they are next best team out east after TN High)

Just missing: Fulton, David Crocket, Dyersburg, Haywood, Station Camp, Sycamore

We will know a lot more with district play starting up for most of these teams.

If I missed anyone people think should have been mentioned I would love to know!

I think all 8 teams could beat each other on any given night.  I know Stone beat Greeneville by 9 earlier in the year but that was without the Football guys playing (Which thats 3 starters and the first 2 off the bench).  Greeneville is starting to put it together with losing to Knox Webb by 1 and beating DB and Science Hill in back to back games by double digits.  They arguably have the best Junior PF in the state in Thompson. (Went for a double double with 30 points against Science Hill last night in a 10pt win and holds offers from Tennessee, Purdue, Xavier, Va Tech,  and Butler)

I wondered how many of their players played football as well. They have played a tough schedule to this point. It wouldn't shock me if any of these 8 teams ended up being a state champ by year end.

I'm gonna call it right now.

Region 1 - Tennessee High, Crockett,Unicoi and Elizabethton.

Region 2 - Greeneville,Volunteer,Cherokee and Grainger.

Regional Championship - Greeneville over Crockett

Sub state  Greeneville @ Home  vs Northview Academy. Greeneville wins

Crockett @ Knox Carter - Crockett wins.

Just my Prediction !

Upperman beats Stone this year. I think they split home and home but Baxter will win district and region tourneys. Cobb has a better supporting cast than Capps.

They very well might, but I don't know if Upperman has the better supporting cast. I saw Stone has a 2nd player who has scored a 1,000 points on the team. Stone also seems to be taller, a 6'4, 2 6'5s, and a 6'6 player. I believe Uppermans tallest player that they play regularly is 6'4 Chaffin. Now these things can be true and still not mean much, but that is just my 2 cents. Either way I am excited to watch these two play Thursday.

We will find out soon enough. My money is on Chaffin vs ALL of their post players

Solid list, 3A will definitely be interesting. Upperman Vs Stone tmrw night I believe should be fun. I see you’re a big HF fan so I gotta ask how you enjoy watching that style of basketball? they are just so bad at the fundamentals Its unbelievable. Given they are one of the most athletic teams in TN and big, but they can barely dribble and chew gum.  I watched several streams and its complete chaos of missed 5 footers and trying to put it back in 6x times in a row lol

Upperman beatdiwn of Stone by 17. Cobb 31 points. The glitch was Stewarts Creek where the whole team was riddle with the flu. They just might be best in 3a

Yep. I watched it. Back and forth game and stayed close til about 4:30 left in the 4th. Capps and Cobb both played great second half’s. Game was closer than score shows. Definitely changes my next rankings.

I watched this online. Officiating was terrible. Way too many touch fouls on both teams. I think both teams were in the bonus each quarter. Stones size was a non-issue. Stone did a great job on Cobb in the 1st half holding him to 4 points. He did a bit better in the 2nd half finishing with 30. Supporting cast was the deciding factor. UHS came through with more help.
