Arline will be amongst the best backs in West Tennessee this year behind that O-line and QB play … everyone’s going to know who he is after this year .

He is on the up and coming for sure. His hard work since last year is paying off. He has dedicated himself to the weight room working out with his brother who is a Huntingdon police officer by the way. He will open some eyes this year.

If he's close to as good as that running back from Covington then we in trouble. It's not that we couldn't tackle him heck we couldn't touch him!

Haven’t seen that young man so I can’t compare.  But to be fair, the real test will come vs you guys. That will be a true measuring stick.  I can say he has gotten bigger and looks quicker from last year.

This Mustang defense has a lot to prove. We've scrimmaged two good offenses so far and have been shredded by both. We really miss our big nose and middle lb that graduated. We're small and young on defense, started two freshmen on defense against Covington. Our offense on the other hand is solid. Our offensive line is knocking people off the ball and Warbritton is toting the load. Expect a big year for # 21. To win our offense is going to have to control the ball and not turn it over!

I think McKenzie won 26-13 last season, now if Hdon can hold McKenzie to 26 I feel good the Mustangs will win.  But Im not very confident that the Mustangs defense will be able to slow the Rebels down at this point. I still think you will see a few more changes on the defensive side of the ball before week 1.

He’s gotta hang on to the football … he’s had some issues in the past doing so but he’s going to produce no question.

It it’s gonna come down to make Celeste mistakes on the football field when you have three big lineman returning that kind of hurts you but they got some young Lyman and little bit smaller that are pretty good. Picking on the other ones. To get the right matchup for you. Think McKenzie is running back. It’s really good. Stevens will have their words cut out for them  this week                         Huntington has a really good defense  Anton has a pretty good offense pretty l they have a young offensive line though that might hurt them, but I think McKenzie will win by a touchdown or tow

Dar saying they’ve stopped running back as good as they were saying is he’s gonna turn heads this year and if that’s the case we might same score 3 touchdowns this week that week against Huntington and Central Central for Mexico score 2 or three game, though both sides of the ball For both teams it really tough match up for the first week that shows how strong they’re trying to make their schedules for this year

I almost had an aneurysm trying to read this mess.

    • Yeah, JCM went from missing a field goal in the Quarterfinals to win it against Milan, to dropping 5th is nonsense. JCM will beat Union City, and I expect them to beat Peabody as well. Huntingdon, JCM, and Milan are the 3 playoff teams in that 2A region. Peabody/Union City will be the 4th. Union City won't have the speed to keep with up with JCM. Too much turnover going on at Peabody right now. Let's move to 1A: Hayden Williams has improved offenses each year from a scoring standpoint. In 2021, Bolivar averaged 12.5 points a game on offense, went up to 21.7 points in 2022, and then 33.5 points in 2023. Humboldt only scored 11.8 points per game in 2023, and that's with their big offensive lineman that's at whatever school he is at. In 2024, Humboldt scored 24.5 a game. When you looked at Humboldt's schedule, they only lost to Greenfield by 7, and beat Gleason by 2. With Williams getting a full offseason under his belt, have a better understanding of what his athletes can do. Won't shock me if they're able to score close to 32-35 points a game offense based on Williams' track record. I won't be surprised if Humboldt finishes 2nd in region, obviously they'll have to challenge Lake for that spot. Humboldt does need to solve things with their middle school program and make sure they get that in check. I'm curious to see what will happen because there might be some hope back in southwestern Gibson County. And if Humboldt is good, West Tennessee football is good.
    • Woah!  More TD passes than incomplete passes? Surely they won that game right? No? You lost to a freshman rb surrounded by other freshmen and sophomores so congratulations on that. Not to mention ya'll had your receiver healthy i been hearing about for 3 years. Nice of him to finally show up. Didnt make a difference though.  Guess that's why Bruceton decided not to renew the rivalry. Didn't want 8 in a row. Rough.  Wonder what the excuses will be this year when they're 1-4 and half the team quits...again.
    • Glad to see Coach Roberts back coaching
    • Im Happy to answer. First, I’m not the least bit concerned with other sports. I’m concerned about the one I know and love. Theres not one ounce of me that cares, even the slightest, about what they do in golf, track, or any of the other individual sports. WE have to make sure THEY are doing right by OUR sport. Now then, a minority of people love the idea of going back to the true state championship? Why? And if you’re good with that, maybe we should go back to carry-format for consolations, eh? Most of the states that do a single state champion do so out of necessity of population. Only California, New Jersey, and Indiana are true wrestling states that could have multiple divisions but don’t. Here’s the list of states with only one state champion that I could find; California, New Jersey, Indiana, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Rhode Island, and Vermont Aside from California, Jersey, and Indiana, point out which states would need multiple divisions. So we are really only talking about three states who consistently rank much higher than we do as a state. Here’s why one state champion would hurt wrestling in Tennessee - We. Are. Not. Those. States. I know, I know. Everyone here wants us to be. I remember the Cow Palace debate ad nauseam - “Iowa doesn’t have their state state championship in a cow palace, neither should we”. The answer is the same here. We aren’t those guys. Weve gotten much better. No one can say otherwise, but simply put, we NEED as many young men and women as possible to have exposure to and participate in the sport if we are to continue to grow and if you’re telling me that having Sam Everett School of Innovation in the same division as Baylor wouldn’t hurt participation in that sport, you’re wrong. Moreover, if you think it has anything to do with lil Johnny or lil Kelly not having the talent or haven’t worked enough, then you're as small minded as you sound and I pray that’s not the case. It’s opportunity. It’s big picture. Get your eyes off the trees and look at the forrest.  Small schools don’t have the talent pool to draw from that the larger schools have. That’s a fact. They also generally don’t have the exposure to the sport as the larger school, which means it’s harder to get kids out to participate. Period. So if having multiple divisions allows smaller schools the ability to hang something in their gym about having a state qualifier, medalist, or champion inspires another kid or two to come out and give it a try, then explain to me what the harm is. I’ll wait. You want to be in a position to one day be like California, Jersey, or Indiana, then we have to have the multiple divisions now to keep growing at the clip we’ve grown as a state. The more kids that wrestle, the better off we are. If that A kid that squeaks out a medal once or twice flips that into a college experience on any level, then returns home and gives back, Thats growing. That’s good for the sport. That same kid in a division with the wreckers from the top tier A, AA, and D2 schools wouldn’t have that opportunity   Save your “participation trophy” comments. That’s not what’s at play here   People aren’t dumb. While there are ABSOLUTELY single A kids that can compete with and have tremendous success in the AA level, I’d wager most understand the difference. Just the same as AA with D2, lather, rinse, repeat.
