Okay, since we are about to enter the tensest time in the season, I thought that it would be fun to post our candidates for the "baddest dude" to ever wrestle in Tennessee. Undoubtedly, some of the more immature people will add posts designed to embarrass their teammates or others. But, hopefully, most people will add serious posts about the dude who may not have been the best wrestler, but who was certainly the wrestler no one wanted to wrestle for fear of bodily harm. In addition to nominating the "baddest dude", you need to explain WHY the candidate is deserving of such a prestigious title.

Okay, so much for the ground rules, let the fun begin!

I definitely couldn't name just one, but here's a couple that I can think of:

Eric Collins(RB)

Phillip Simpson(MBA)

Matt Keller(BC)

Darren McKnight(RB)

Matt McCardy(CLKV)

J.T. Hagen(McC)

Charlie Ritchie(ER)

Rusty Blackmon(BC)

Kevin Ward(SD)

Future Names that will be mentioned on a thread like this:

Daniel Crosby(GRNV)

Shawn Cordell(BC)

Jordan Leen(BAY)

Raymond Dunning(FR)

Kyle James(SD)

Being a former Cleveland Blue Raider, I have to bring up Johnny Lennon. Anyone who faced him knows what I'm talking about. That was one alumni I hated to see come in the practice room cause it usually meant a 2 hour butt-whippin' session for anyone put in front of him. Johnny's just flat mean. Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot from him, but it took a couple of days to get over the lesson. Any of the three Langford Bros.; Shelton, Howard, or Lionel would fit nicely in this category also.

Coach Blair, I agree. John Lennon was tough. I remember John beating himself up before a match to get fired up against a defending state champ(Charles Houston-pretty bad himself), and John went right through him. Along those same lines, and I'm not from Memphis, a contributor to this site, Tom Marable was one tough ######, as was Mike Blosser.

Just thought of two more...Mean Chuck Bean the Wrestling Machine and the guy that idolizes him David Thoni.

Guest somethingCLEVER

i think many people mistook this thread for a "best wrestler" thread.....but in watching them wrestle, matt mccarty and matt keller wrestled as if the other persons safety was the least of their concerns.....

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
