Hey D-B fans, John Sevier Middle School won the TMSAA Sectional (the East Tennessee Middle School State Championship) Saturday with a one point overtime victory over the Science Hill 8th grade team. The Warriors beat Alcoa by 9, Sevierville by 26, and the Toppers by one. Sevier had four players make the all-state team - Logan Williamson, Xavier Skaggs, Josef Throp, and MVP Coty Sensabaugh. It was a great season for this team and a gutsy win over an equally outstanding S.H. team. Coach Morgan and Mrs. Coach Morgan were in the stands in Pigeon Forge to support the Warriors and C Mo gave the boys a post game talk. Another very classy move by this outstanding coach and supportive wife. Big congratulations to Sevier's Coach Marty Moore, who was a very positive leader for this team and did a great coaching job all season. Way to go Warriors! We look forward to you all becoming Indians.

Roll Tribe!

DB Indians dominated SE. Indians coasted to 78-42 win with everybody on the team getting good minutes of PT. DB subbed early and often.

Balanced scoring was evident. Wootten had 14pts (awesome breakawy 2 hand Dunk in the 2nd qtr). Azmar Blye played a very good game, glad to have you back Azmar. Henry Williams scored early. Seth Jervis popped some 3's. Thomas Harrison had 10 pts or so, and a bunch of boards. Jeff Morrison had some very good action, played really good, had 5-7 pts. Joey Blackwell played steady. Defense was strong early. East had 4 pts after 1 qtr.

Next up - Tn. High, wednesday @ 7:30. I can't wait to see the Indians destroy the Stall Ball tactics that Burns is using. I am sure DB will hold the Vikings to under 60 pts, as I don't think they have scored that many more than once this season.

Way to go Indians, good start to the District!!

Roll Tribe Roll

Giddy Up!! :D

Weak Hommer, as always, you look and sound desperate, like someone who wishes he could keep enough interest to have his own string. Ha Ha, like any cares!!

Lets see, the last time DB played South, was right after SH squeaked by them about, what was it, 59-50 @ SH. DB beat that same South team 88-44 @ South.

I hope your boys do beat South, 'cause ya'll are get to get another dose of Indian Medicine if you do!! Just like the DB JV put on your jr. topps and just like Sevier put on your baby topps!! Get used to it! I doubt you toppers can draw half the crowd Kingsport will bring to laugh at you leaving with time still on the clock..... again!!

Giddy slap up and Roll Tribe Roll

:rolleyes::D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
