Whitwell: 5-0 and Still Rolling

The Lady Tigers increased their record to 5-0 overall and 5-0 in District 6-A with a 16-0 win over Chattanooga City. The game was over in 3 innings,but they played a couple of more innings to get the JV players some experience. Whitwell plays Sequatchie County and Sale Creek on Wednesday and Thursday. Both games are home games. Keep up the good work BIG RED!

I was just interested in how much Whitwell talks about how they are rolling, yet, who have they played thus far that would establish the idea of "rolling"? Are you saying that Whitwell has acheived something spectacular,or, are you just stating the obvious, which is that Whitwell has scored a lot of runs against weaker opponents?

Whitwell should do well against Sequatchie, but Sale Creek is another matter altogether. Sale Creek hits the ball, and hits it well. Their defense is suspect, their pitching is pretty good, but their offense can and does stand up to any team across the state.

 

Don't have a dog in this, and I may be way off. I've seen a total of 2 Sale Creek games. From what I saw, I like the way they play.

Is Whitwell good enough to get to the substate? What is Class A like in the Chattanooga area. I'm just wondering whose going to match-up with Friendship and whoever else comes out of Middle Tennessee on down the line? Are any of those Chattanooga area teams in Class A teams as good as Friendship?

If someone is mad that fans are stating that Whitwell is rolling then too bad. Right now they are and thats great. The mark of a good team is one that can punish weaker opponents and it appears thats what they are doing.

"The mark of a good team is one that can punish weaker opponents" Do you really beleive that? I can think of about 10-15 marks of a good team that would come well before punishing weaker teams. I really hope you do not beleive that is truly a "mark" of a good team.

It is one of the good marks of a good team. True it is only one of many, but if a good team fails to play at high level and lets there opponent drag them down then one has to wonder how good they really are.

If I had a good mark I'd give you one. It really is a shame that a person can't say congratulations to their team without getting a bunch of smack from everybody else.

Maybe it was not accurate, but the report this morning had Sale Creek just getting 3 hits against South Pittsburg.

Not sure how many hits Sale Creek had, but I do remember reading that Abbie Smith had a double. I also believe the score was 6-3 or something close to that. Smith and Martin are hitting well and we will have to watch out for them tomorrow. Do you know if Heather Jameson is still injured?
