WHAT ARE THE BEST RIVALIES IN TN?

Bearden-Farragut. Two big 5-A schools with going at it in front of a ton of people. Of course, I am a little biased.

The oldest rivilar in the State isnt South Pitt vs Marion Co.... Its Rockwood vs Harriman its been going on scense 1921 and Rockwwod leads the all-time series 45-32-6

Have they played every year since 1921? If they are the oldest consecutive rivalry that's fine maybe the paper in Chattanooga needs to do more researching. That was my main source for putting that on here as the longest running consecutive rivalry in the state. The paper billed it as such for approximately 10 years.

usj vs. bruceton hollow-rock play in regular season and meet every year in the quarterfinals.

 

usj vs. jcs big rivalry in every sport but football is a little lopsided. in our last game jcs had about 55 total yards. in 15 years jcs has won once.

Briarcrest ECS game the most important game for both teams all season braggin rights and the #1 seed for the playoffs are on the line much tradition

Have these two played every year since then without exception?----Amazing----I guess that makes the White House-Greenbrier rivalry the 3rd longest in the state.

I think WAYNE CO and Collinwood is one of the best rivalries in south middle TN. There has been more destruction of stadiums from these two teams than any others probably!

I am a BA fan 110%, but I can tell you, the Maryville-Alcoa game is the best high school game I have ever been to, outside of State Championships. The atmosphere is amazing. My brother in law played for Alcoa in the early 1980's. He grew up in that area. He took me to a game 12-15 years ago, and I will have to say, the electricity was in the air. If I was in that area the night a Maryville-Alcoa game was being played, I would definitely go. Tradition and pride runs deep between these two teams! I will say, though, the 89 Alcoa team was the best to come through that area, ever. The talent speaks for itself. Billy Williams and Shannon Mitchell to name a few. There was also a good QB named Rusty ...., and a good middle guard that died in High School that I forgot his name. I think he died instantly. He gave BA fits in 1988. I saw the BA vs. Alcoa game in 88 in the BA victory of the State Championship, when BA finished #8 in the nation in the USA Today poll and could tell they(Alcoa) would be loaded the next year. They took out my team, BA in the State Championship in 89. This is a great rivalry(Alcoa-Maryville)!
