Tidwell resigns at Warren County!

When will the so called Athletic Director turn in his resignation? Jacobs has made several questionable hires in the past couple of years, Tidwell included. What the heck did he do to become AD anyway? I remember him from when I went to school at WCHS, the guy never won anything. I guess if you stick around long enough after your coaching days are over they will reward you with a slick title and zero accountabilty. Almost every sport at WCHS has been run into the ground under his watch. I suggest they clean house and start at the top. Does anyone know what his job description is? Does he have responsibilities other that making sure the WC athletic program is the laughingstock of the state?

This Coach has already had a difficult time with his previous post at the school. The last thing that needs to happen is to have him beat up even more in the public eye. This man made the decision to move on with his life, wish him luck and let him leave with some dignity and pride left.

Coach good luck in life and with your famliy. take this time to reflect on way you made the decison to be an educator and a coach and get back to those things to prepare yourself for your next assignment wherever that may be.

VERY NICE POST!

You know there is more to life than coaching although it is difficult for those of us who earn a living in this business to always remember this fact!

With the football program at Warren County being down for such a long period of time will the school board allow the new coach the opportunity to hire 4 assistant coaches? Why would anyone be crazy enough to take the job and not be allowed to replace most of the assistant coaches that have contributed to their lack of success over the years?

I can't figure out why every bad situation in the state "must" be the assistants fault. A football team is a reflection of the head coach. Dickie Brown at Sparta is a tough, no questions asked kind of guy. He didn't walk into a lot of assistants and didn't bring many with him, yet he has turned Sparta around. The head coach is the cog of the football team. Lets let these fellows at Warren County do what is nec. to improve this team and get off of WC's back.

My Oline coach in college once said: "...There are only two types of coaches... (dramatic pause)....Ones who have been fired and ones that will be fired..." Pick your chin up Tidwell, life goes on.

What has Warren County "done right" for the football program so far? As far as I can tell, "Warren County" owes the high school football program "one."

Who is "on" Warren County's back? Parents? Where are the outsiders? Posters on CoachT.com are not creating Warren County's problems.

It's time for a completely new approach. My hat is off to Tidwell for doing the right thing. Hopefully the decision-makers at Warren County will go into the think tank and do something radically different this time.

The program is on life-support. If someone is really sick in McMinnville, they usually go to Nashville or Chattanooga for medical assistance. The solution for the football team's coaching problems probably lies beyond the county's borders.

It is time to search far and wide for a new football coach. The present and future football players deserve all the attention and consideration the Warren County administration can give them.

P.S. Every state championship football team in Tennessee had both solid head coaches and assistant coaches last season. Warren County should hire the best head and assistant coaches they can find. One head coach on the 5A level cannot do it alone. The fate of White County is far from over.

Did they not go beyond the county's borders the last couple of times when a coach for football neeeded to be hired. I love reading this stuff on this board. Everyone including myself has all the answers. Hire outside, hire inside, fire the ad, bring new assistants, let the volunteers of the program run it, bring the middle school staff, and so on and so on. This football program if you want to call it that is on life support and has been for over a decade. The numbers don't lie and since losing is as contagious as winning is this isnt going to be fixed with duct tape and staples. This team is getting killed by forty plus every week and has been for many years. Teams are not going to come back to us. Cookeville, Tullahoma, and Lincoln Co. aint going to get 40 points worse. So when you as well as I bring all these round table ideas that are going to save the day for the mighty program ask yourself how many points is that going to make up. Tidwell's decision helped today. Only 37 more points to ago.

I liked and respected coach Tidwell and his decision to leave this program upsets me in a way but I do think that this is the right choice. The person i really feal for in this situation is Coach Tidwell. He moved 600 miles to Tennessee to take this job. He has a family and now has no job come the end of the year. The only thing that I wished that he would of done diffrent is wait until the season was over to quit but he had to do what he had to do. Best wishes Coach Tidwell and family.

I wish I could be more optimistic about this recent development, but unfortunately I think this is just more complicated than one man resigning. Warren County has been a losing program for so long that the players and fans have become very jaded toward football. They don't expect to be successful, and consequently they aren't successful. It will take a radical move to reverse this course of low expectations and acceptance of failure. If the folks of WC really want to change things, they will have to pay the rent this time. That's something they were unwilling to do two years ago. I would submit that the committee that hired the last coach should be scrapped and a completely new panel should be created to oversee the next hire. It's way past time for a thorough house cleaning. How does anyone expect an AD who never won to recognize a winner in his midst? I would say to the people of Warren County to either put up the money to get a proven coach AND at least four assistants, or don't complain if you get more of the same next year. It's time to pay the rent Warren County.

My guess is it won't happen. It is my understanding that the head coaching position doesn't offer a large supplement! It is much less than most OC's and DC's earn in the larger school systems in the State. That doesn't mean that you can't find a good solid coach, but it will make it more difficult. Again, I doubt the school board will approve a substantial increase in the coaching supplement.

    • Upperman White County both will be loaded. Dyersbirg and South Side will be a handful as well. Getting about that time in about 3 weeks we start watching summer scrimmages. Dyersburg loaded loaded loaded with talent. Most talent ever I have seen in their program.
    • We, SP, blanked them 10-0 in sectional game during 21 season.
    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
