A check of the clock, a quarter past ten,

rumor is coach Dyer missed the prep rally, he was at the church praying for a win.

The coach Dyer prayer went something like this:

Lordy, Lordy, please hold the Jackets under 40,

Give us a chance to run and and a few seconds to throw,

don't let the ref see us false start or hold.

Let the ball bounce as it may,

But dear Lord its been almost 20 years since you let it bounce our way.

We need this win to give our boys hope,

if we lose this one, they may hang their heads and mope.

We've worked hard this year with much blood and sweat,

please make my trip to the creekbank one I won't regret.

The Jackets are mighty like Goliath you see,

please make them stumble when they run for a TD.

We are pretty good this year and that's all thanks to You,

Please give my defense strength when the Jacket goes for two.

Lord, its been many years since we could boast over our neighboring friends,

Just gimme this one, I'll never ask again.

Be with the players so nobody gets hurt,

turn the creekbank like the red sea...from raging water to dirt.

If you don't answer this prayer I will understand,

the Jacket is just to mighty, and Clint has done it again.

Amen.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY FELT FORTUNATE TO LEAVE WITH THEIR LIVES?? DOES THAT MEAN IF WE WIN WE HAVE TO FIGHT YA'LL TO GET OUT OR DOES IT MEAN ON THE FIELD?? WORRING ME A LITTLE BIT THERE. ;)

All I was trying to say was that the teams that have won a game at the Creekbank were very fortunate that they did. Ask anyone who has played against the Jackets on the 'bank and they will tell you how tough it really is. Not many teams win there. That's why the tradition of Trousdale is so important. They beat teams that they have no business being on the field. People say that this is a rebuilding year, a reloaing year or whatever. All I know is that it doesn't matter what type of year that the jackets are having, the 'bank is still a tough place to win. If you beat the Jackets there you must be a pretty good football team. The teams that have won games there will tell you that it's rough and that they were extremely glad to just get out of Hartsville with a victory. They don't want to have another rematch there.

hey tigers dont worry bout all this smack,

cause we as fans have got your back.

so go play the game that you love,

we'll be yelling from the bleachers above.

we have faith in you dont you see,

and we know your not scared of any "ole bee".

so get out there and play with all your might,

everything will be quiet alright.

for when its all said and done,

squashing those bees will be mighty fun.

but on a serious note i want to say loud,

no matter how it ends, of you we're so proud!!!

as for those yellow jacket bees i wanted to say,

i also wish you some luck today.

but the tigers have my heart you know,

and i just wanted to say to them......go.....go......go!!!!!!!

good luck to both teams!!!!!!!!!

GO........................TIGERS.....................!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that you misunderstood pappa's poem. That "old bee" that your talking about is Jim B. The legend. He coached at Trousdale for 50 years until he died. Coach Jim B. Satterfield, was my coach, just like pappa's dad. Pappa when you talked about Coach Satt. it touched me because I know he would like to have been coaching in a game like this. He led the Jackets to the 72 championship in AA and runners up in 73, 74, and 75 championships. He also won 2 A championships in 90 and 93. I bet pappa's head is full of stories that his dad told him about Coach Satt. I sure wish Coach Satt was still alive because you know he would have something to do with the game. Just a little tradition that you Macon fans wouldn't understand.
