the tennessean printed in the top ten midstate poll that " is lincoln county invincible or is region 3-5a just that weak". well the truth is region 3-5a is weak but lc is that good. lc has one the best teams in the state. they are loaded on offense and defense. most of the seniors have been playin since they were sophmores, so they are very experienced. lc and coach thompson havent got respect all year. they took out all the murfreesboro teams, took out franklin, heck they have scored 339 points to 66 of the opponents. they have shut out a few teams so they are one of the teams to beat this year. dont get me wrong, franklin, riverdale, and coffee county are good teams, but lc took them out. i mean we held the state's leadin rusher to hardly any yards. all im sayin is lc should get more respect because they are one of the best teams in the state. and i feel sorry for warren county this friday. GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so cry about it. it does not matter right now. it only matters in the end, right

I wholeheartedly agree that Lincoln County is the mid-state's best team right now, but I disagree with some poster's contention that all they've got to worry about is Franklin, Dickson and Brentwood. There'll be quite a bit of wood to chop before meeting any teams going into the West bracket and Lincoln Countians should worry about taking care of business on the East side first. I think a probable second round clash with Smyrna will be a test. This is a talented, senior club with a balanced attack. No pushover. The third round probably yields a visit from Riverdale. They've only been to the finals three years running. It's a mine field for anybody in 5A.

I posed this question in another thread, but I don't think anyone ever responded...will Lincoln County have home field advantage throughout the playoffs if they end up with the best record?

Thanks :(

I think they'll have it for the first three games, the last one probably against Riverdale. IF they make it past the Warriors, then they'll travel to either Kingsport or Oak Ridge (my money's on Oak Ridge) for game four, and IF they win it they'll play the final in Murfreesboro.

actually the riverdale fumble would have been a safety. it happened last year in a game all of the football players saw and plus the coaches(even coach thompson) put up his hands for a safety. and i do speak for the football team cause i talked to some of the seniors today and they said the same thing that most people hate lc and we get no respect. so i am talkin for the players and school not the adults who really dont know what goes on behind the scenes cause i do cause i played for 2 and a half years. TO ALL YOU PEOPLE I CALLED IDIOTS, IM SORRY AND SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID THAT. I RESPECT ALL THE TEAM AROUND THE STATE AND DID NOT MEAN TO GET SO MAD. n e wayz that is what the majority of lc people think.

The team does not feel that way, trust me. They are not worried about that. They are focused on one thing, and one thing only, this week's opponent. Right now, all they have on their mind is Warren County. Also, the so called "Riverdale fumble" would have been Lincoln County ball at the 20 after a touchback, not a safety. Discussed that one with Coach Thompson personally, but what difference does it make now? Trust me, I know what goes on "behind the scenes" at Lincoln County High School. I have been a very close personal friend to Coach Thompson and his family. I can assure you that if the players did have that attitude, he would set them straight very quickly, he does not run his program that way. All of the knowledgable people on here know that to be true and that your opinions are your own and no one elses.

Hey latino you must not have listend to Coach Thompson very well when you played because he would not have put up with that attitude in his field house. i know because i also played for three years and i also Know what goes on behind the scenes. You got to remember that alot of the adults on coact have played and also know about the Falcon program. you do not represent the Falcon tradition of class. So eveyone i appologize for his comments they do not represent the Falcon attitude.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
