Game Summary:

First half CPA completely shut down DCA offense. Don't know stats but doubt if DCA had 50 yeards offense 1st half.

CPA ran the ball at will with Luke Landers gaining yards every run. CPA didn't have to pass but did score on pass to Travis Sikes to go up 7-0. They should have scored again, but had 1st and 10 on about the 10 and got 3 straigh penalties then an interception.

Halftime: 7-0 CPA.

3rd quarter CPA runs down the field again and shuts DCA down to go up 14-0. Wooden catches pass in the middle of the field with Sikes going for the interception. Wooden makes nice catch and outruns CPA defenders for a TD, about 60 yards.

CPA: 14-7

CPA gets the ball on kickoff, Pollock fumbles snap and DCA recovers on about the 20. After about 4-5 plays, DCA throws short TD pass. Game tied 14-14, moemtum shifts to DCA even though they still have virtually no rushing yardage.

DCA gets ball back, drives to 20 yard line. FG attempt to go ahead blocked by Andrew House, picked up by Sikes for 80 yard TD return.

CPA: 21-14

Rest of game is CPA dominating ad shutting down DCA's offense and scoring 2 more TD's.

Final CPA 35-14.

Unofficial stat estimate. Landers for CPA over 260 yards rushing

Wooden rushes for 18 yards.

CPA is defending state champs and proved it. They are the best team in 1A and with a losing record.

Kudos to WesVols who predicted CPA winning 31-13. Final was 35-14. Great call, WestVols! I'm excited for our CPA team after a lot of adversity, but thought the game would be closer.

Haha, thanks for the props. It was nothing more than a lucky guess, though I was pretty confident CPA would win. Congrats are in order for CPA -- they are very well-coached and scrappy. Luke Landers is a beast for a man his size!

    • Congratulations to Huntingdon and Station Camp. Lots of good softball in Tennessee. Alcoa been media favorite last two seasons.
    • Im more of a Basketball follower than football and like I said we play what we have, there is no going and recruiting or even talking kids into transferring…..and to rebut about Memphis teams in finals I’ve watched Memphis East and Penny Hardaway with the enrollment of a single A team play up and dominate any and all challengers for years! They aren’t the only ones either Mike Miller and son at Germantown put together that super team a couple years ago that ran through the rest of the state! Other teams from Memphis or Chatt or Nash or any large populated area pop up and are relevant out of nowhere every year because they get an influx of talent be it from a new coach or AAU affiliations it happens in football also just like any other sport! I hope these two schools that close join together and get to play the team you support, then you may see it differently! I find it funny some of you think recruiting and resources don’t matter . The county schools get very little funding also but you don’t want to get me started on that part!
    • No doubt. ORC a good dude.
    • In a total classless move, Coach Simmons once again shows his true colors. Waits till the day after school is out to let everyone know he is leaving. Fails up to a community college job after a lackluster 2 year span at GH. And do not tell me about the state run that saved a sub .500 season and plenty of whippings by Cookeville and Lebanon.  Looks like the girls job at GH is cursed. Terrible MS program/coaches feeding what is turning out to be a joke of a HS team.
