Who was nominated or elected to the 2003-2004 Dream Team?

I know the Mid-State Coaches Association selects a dream team. Are there other TN coaching association dream teams?

 

When is the dream team selected and where are the selected wrestlers listed?

Historically, the Dream Team has been selected by a vote of coaches who attended the area-wide (Middle Tennessee - Regions 5, 6, 7) meeting on the last Sunday (or maybe 4th Sunday) of January. That meeting was probably held this past Sunday, Jan. 25. Originally, the names were given to a city newspaper for coverage. I am not in the know on how the selections are treated currently.

After the state there is a dinner held in thier honor as well as state champions.

Is this "Dream Team" all seniors, like all-star teams? Does this team compete, or is it just an honorary thing? Is there one per weight class, or just a collection of the best wrestlers in the area? Do acedemics come into play when they're being chosen?

The "Dream Team" is selected by a vote of the coaches in Middle Tennessee and they choose the top wrestler (regardless of grade) in each weight classification. They also select 1 wrestler for the "Johnny Drennan" (outstanding wrestler) award. Unless things have changed over the last few years, academics play no part in this selection. The only time that they ever have a major problem is when two wrestlers at the same weight are both nominated and wrestler A has a record of 29-3 and wrestler B has a record of 21-0. Wrestler A lost to the PA state champion, OK 3rd place, and VA state champion. Wrestler B is undefeated but has not beat anyone that even placed in the TN state tournament.

In the past, an overall dream team (independent of school size) was selected. In addition large school and small school dream teams were named. The selection is honorary only.

 

I understand that the Coaches have selected the teams for this season. I was interested in seeing the various selections.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Another problem arises when wrestler A loses to wrestler B in an early tournament, but wrestler A comes back later in the season and beats wrestler B.

I'm slowly chipping away at this. Shelton got it at 103, and Hiller won the Drennan Award. What about the others?
