Tony Delmonico

I believe that Tony is probably the best Shortstop in East TN maybe even the state. The kid can flat out get the job done. He really impresses me and the kid is only a sophomore. He is so smoothe in the field and can absolutely crush the baseball.

Yeah i was really impressed with him when i saw him, i heard a lot of stuff about how good he was, but when i saw him i was like dang is this kid really a sophomore.

I see all these people talking about Cale Iorg but where is all the talk about Tony Delmonico. I have played against him since i was 11 or 12 and he was playing two years up. His game has evolved tremendously since then into what i feel is definatly the best SS in the state and he is only a sophomore. For those of you who get a chance to see him play take a second and just enjoy it you are seeing something truly amazing. I beleive eventually he will go on to play for his dad at the Univ. of Tennessee but i beleive he could go to a better school then that if he truly wanted to... and UT isn't doing to bad right now

The kid also has alot of speed. Tonight against science hill he stretched out a routine single line drive that was in front of the centerfielder into a double. Farragut's lineup has just gone from amazing to incredibly amazing.

yeah he is outstanding as a sophomore just like his good buddy jeff lockwood, but over all with hitting and fielding and arm i think cale is still on top of him.

 

i will not take anything from tony because he is a true player

Yes, I have to agree Delmonico has the raw talent every high school baseball player dreams of. I got the pleasure of watching him play against South Doyle. I felt like I was watching a minor league game w/ all of the scouts there and the atmosphere that Farragut brings to the ball park with them. I have to say that Delmonico is the best SS in the state hands down.

I have had a chance to watch both Cale and Delmonico, Tony's a great ball player, but I dont believe he is ahead of Cale right now. He may be as good but I dont think you can say he is the best SS in TN until Cale heads off to BAMA.

If your going to start a thread about good shortstops you've got to mention Tyler Cannon of Pigeon Forge..he's a freakin stud and he's only a sophomore.

Cannon is gonna be a really good one, but he isn't in the same league as Delmonico or Iorg.
