everyone seems to be very biased with these rivarly games..

Farragut vs. Bearden, Alcoa vs. Maryville. never seen alcoa vs. maryville but im sure its good.

biggest rivalry and one of the oldest if not in the state of Tennessee is the Baylor vs. McCallie....people live for this game where 10000+ are in attendance every year....the city of chattannoogga wants the game canceled due to the vandalism that goes on..stop signs are spray painted, cars are vandalized, and the 100 feet signs that hang from the bridges only show the spirit, and the police escorted caravans.......sure schools have rivalry but none compare to the Baylor Mccallie game where students will go to any means to get at the other school so for the 9th year in a row the blue tornado will march all over the baylor school

Jo Byrns - East Robertson.

East moved to 2A and just recently have been able to schedule them again. Jo Byrns has about a 4 game (not year) winning streak.

Please don't let re-classification/region additions/subtractions take the rivalry away!!!

 

Jo Byrns, East Robertson, McEwen (old 5-1A/8-1A) vs. any private school.

small town country boys vs. prep city boys

They didn't like us, we didn't like them. They sure hated it when we (Jo Byrns) fired up the tobacco barns!!! I'm sure East did the same thing.

Well, I know it has been said on here by other posters but here it is again since the game is this week for us. In the east is sounds like Maryville v. Alcoa is tops. Out here between Nashville and Memphis it is:

mccallie and baylor is a big rivalry but they definitely will not go at any lenths to get at the other school, its a pretty soft rivalry

 

soft rivalry...man do you live in a hole or something, people getting arrested on the mountains, campus security is at a maximum where every car is stopped, and the pranks students pull, i.e. a student decided to burn a M into baylors field and messed up and burned a huge chunk of the field........you may consider this a soft rivalry but in chattanooga its the weekend where everyone knows crazy stuff will happen

As both schools start to even out on talent Wayne County and Collinwood will be the big rivalry once again...Good luck to Wayne Co. against Lewis Co. tonight always a good starting game...

The best rivalry game by far in the state is Grace Christian Academy and Coalfield!!!!

I'm surprised not many people have mentioned this rivalry. Although both schools are small, this rivalry is a big deal in Roberston County and they pretty much go at in all sports. Especially basketball.

 

Springfield-Clarksville is a very old rivalry in football but it's a good one.

 

Springfield-Greenbrier and Springfield-White House are tense rivalries. Both towns are 5 and 10 miles apart respectively.

 

Greenbrier and White House have always been rivals but it's become tense the last few years.

 

Other good rivalries are Beech-Hendersonville, Gallatin-Hendersonville, Lebanon-Mt. Juliet, Brentwood-Franklin, Smyrna-Lavergne, BA-MBA, Lipscomb-Goodpasture, and White House-Portland in Middle TN.

 

Good rivalries around the Memphis are are Germantown-Houston, Whitehaven-Fairley, MUS-CBHS, and Covington-Munford-Brighton. Probably the biggest rivalry in West TN outside of the Memphis area is Milan-Humboldt.
