Cherokee 14 Elizabethton 10. EHS is on a winning streak against teams that are sitting at home now. It is a must win and the other two games that were must wins ( South and East) EHS lost so I do not see anything changing.

the key will be to slow down the chiefs power game while playing smart but aggressive on offense. If Jeffers isnt on, which he wasnt this week, Pless must not hesitate to go with Smith. Elizabethton can beat Cherokee, if they play like they did against Central without the turnovers.

If the intensity comes back for the Cyclones and the offense moves, things look good. Need better run defense. The Chiefs throw the ball down field, when they do throw, but their attack is a punishing run game. They are big, but sluggish. Can't wait to make changes if they are needed. got to see Elizabethton play for the first time this year an entire game.. Not a good game for the QB, but for most of the team looked pretty good. All I have heard was about the coaching of the Cyclones. Well they put another QB in late in the game and marched down the field and scored a TD, with solid blocking. Last year the Cyclones did the same thing in the Greenville game just before the half, new QB, marched down the field, scored,then came back in the second half with the starting QB and nothing went right. Same thing Thru. night, next series came back with starting QB, same results, nothing happen. The playoff game could belong to the coaches. Players can only play when the coach sends them on the field. He almost waited to late against Unicoi, to win in Rogersville, they can't wait to late in the game to make changes. Good Luck

The Chiefs are powerful and they have more heart than Elizabethton. I say the Chiefs will win easily.

Trully don't think "heart" will be a problem for either team. It's play-off time and that, in itself, revs up the heart. They will both give it all for four quarters. I do know that Elizabethton will, without a doubt.

 

Elizabethton doesn't have as good of a record as the Chiefs, but the schedule was quite a bit tougher than the Chiefs this year. Cyclones suffered two one point loses and a 5 point loss to S. Hill. Everyone got tapped big by TN. High. Cherokee lost 48-14 to Tn. High and 27-20 to Greeneville. Betsy beat Greeneville in a game Greeneville should have won. Tn. High beat Betsy 35-3, but the Vikings did not pile up alot of offensive yards on the Cyclones. The Chiefs have a power running game which the Cyclones have done well at stopping this year, but the Cherokee boys are bigger also. Well, every team Betsy has played has been quite a bit larger..... not a factor. Both teams, I'm sure, respect each others accomplishments thru the season and this rivalry goes back a few years. I think from all of this that we will have a "barn buner" up there in Hawkins County. Looking forward to watching the fire.
