9 Classifications in TN football?

This is ridiculous that the state of TN is about to go to 9 classifications in a state as small as ours. Watered down competition makes the sport weaker and promotes the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality. My question is what is the TSSAA doing with all the money they are getting? Insurance can't be all the money is going to so what is it.  They need to combine classifications like the old days and make it better and have no public/private split.

1A-2A: 1A

3A-4A: 2A

5A and the current D2A schools: 3A

6A and the current D2AA schools: 4A

this type of classification would promote really good football in the state and allow for good matchups that would draw big gates.

Another thing to is the state title games could all be on the same day instead of the 3 day period they are currently. Also, why exactly is the state game at TTU? It would be better to have the games at a central location to maximize  attendance and Vandy or MTSU would allow for this to have crowds of 10K+ like the old days

Cookeville won the bid.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
