  1. Finally got a chance to sit down and watch some film on some top 4A teams across the state. So for the 1st time in 2017 here is my Top 10 in 4A. 1. Greeneville (8-0) - Right now the Green Devils looked poised for a return trip to Cookeville. They have the most impressive resume thus far. With Ballard at QB and a suffocating defense. I find it hard to see a 4A beating them unless the injury/turnover/penalty bug hits them in the playoffs. The rematch with Elizabethton in the playoffs is a spot that could get tricky for the devils. 2. Anderson Co. (8-0)- The Mavericks have a high powered offense, but I worry they have not seen the competition that Greeneville has up until this point. Do they have what it takes to make a run in November? I think their season comes to an end against Elizabethton in the 2nd round. 3. Haywood Co. (6-2)- The Tomcats showed they are for real by boat racing Crockett County last week. They have played a tough schedule with 2 losses to Memphis Private schools. Right now they are my favorite to come out of the West and take on Greeneville in Cookeville. 4. Elizabethton (6-2)- The Cyclones have made a successful jump to 4A. I am high on Coach Witten and his staff for making strides throughout the season to get his team ready for the postseason. I think the potential match-up with Anderson Co. in the playoffs will be a classic. 5. Marshall County (6-2)- Coach Osteen and the Tigers set up their 2017 schedule to get them ready for a post season run. They will enter the postseason with 3 losses but not many teams will want to line up against the physical Tigers. They are my favorite to make the trip to Greeneville the day after Thanksgiving. Last time Osteen visited Greeneville the day after Thanksgiving he left with a 21 pt. loss but gave a great Greeneville team a run for his money as OC. 6. Crockett Co. (7-1)- The Cavs ran into a buzzsaw last week and must get ready to rebound against Top 10 3A team Covington this week. 7. Memphis East (4-4)- This can be a headscratcher for some but the drop off after Crockett Co in terms of top 10 teams is drastic. The reigning 4A champs will be a tough out come playoff time. Look for the Mustangs to make a potential Quarterfinal run. 8. Dyersburg (6-2)- Trojans are quietly putting together another quality season. They had a surprising loss to Obion County early in the year but they are rebounding nicely. 9. Livingston Academy (7-1)- Wildcats are the best team in region 3 even though Macon County fans may say they will have something to say about it. The 1 pt win over Smith County really has me questioning how strong a team they have this year. 10. White House (8-0)- The poll is bookend with Devils. White House's record is unblemished on the season but who have they played? They will benefit from being in Region 5 and they have a chance to make a Quarterfinal/Semi final run due to Region 5/6 being the weakest quad IMO. Next 5 Out: Spring Hill, Maplewood, Chattanooga Central, Springfield, Lexington I am sure others will have opinions on this.

  2. You have to say Brandon Gray is one of the best coaches in the state. If he did not love Adamsville so much, he could have already gotten a larger job. The Cardinals stumbled out of the gate and it seems the installation of Knight has been the right move for this team. Collin Misenheimer appears to be one of the best QBs in the area. Gray took what Tommy Browder started at AHS and built a powerhouse. Total respect for Gray.

  4. I have no idea how Coach Shedd's name keeps coming up in all of this and the other thread about the BS about missing funds while he was girls' basketball coach. Please hear this.....THERE WAS NEVER ANY MISSING MONEY...NEVER! Coach Shedd did not take any money, misplace any money, hide money in mason jars or trade it for those magic beans Jack used to climb up and meet the giant. Like his coaching or don't like his coaching...fine. But please quit believing the propaganda that Coach Shedd did something illegal....which he did not do. My name is David Lowrie and I approved this message.

  5. I'll do you one better than that, the next time I see you we can have a pow wow face to face. I know who you are and I started to yell at you last night but you were walking around in a world all by yourself with earphones in looking at your phone. I was telling the crew beside me I bet you were reading "The Word of The Day."

  8. Yes it is a good coaching staff. Sometimes the best team lose. This goes for coaches and players. Comer won the coaching battle last friday. Our boys were flat and never got anything going. The refs were terrible but that was not why we lost. the Rebels came to play. It was their senior night. I don't think any of those teams that blew them out early in the season could do it now. They may be peaking or did Peabody look so bad, we made them look good. I think they are better than what people give them credit for. It is crunch time now. Please use all of your talent Peabody. You can win out if you just spread the ball around to your talent. It is pitiful to see how talent is just going to waste, even in our victories.

  12. 30 Told me he'd be back for Powell. I think 20 and 21 are both playing well too. We should be in good shape at rb position. With 4 returning punts and 30 returning kicks, I don't expect Powell to kick it to us, should have good starting field position all night.

  15. If both teams come into the game mentally prepared for a tough battle... then the team that makes less mistakes will pull out the close win. Checkout how close they are on offense. It should be a good game! BUT... Go Dawgs! Lewis County 9-0 233.9 rushing yards per game, 34 TDs/ 9 fumbles 45.6 passing yards per game, 7 TDs/ 4 Ints Defense against Region common opponents: 7.0 pts per game Columbia Academy 7-1 * lost to 4A Spring Hill Offense: 261.0 rushing yards per game, 27 TDs/ 8 fumbles 74.1 passing yards per game, 6 TDs/ 3 Ints Defense against Region common opponents: 10.25 pts per game

  16. Looks like the good ol boys are all over CoachT. Bosken was a good coach but Coach Sensabaugh took that team to another level. He was the kind of disciplinarian they needed and he was finally doing something about all the problems they've had there for years.
