Pocket passers like Carnes are a dime a dozen. One dimensional football is a thing of the past. QB’s like Bryce Hanley are the future. Dual threat QB’s are a Defensive Coordinators nightmare. Greenback will now be easier to defend this season and much less explosive.
Have you had a PI sneaking around? Trust me, I know the feeling...
Play ball and may the best team win! You know how the saying goes, “On any given day, any team can win!” No guarantee that transfers guarantee wins!
Covington May win that region but not by a long shot. There were a couple of teams in our region that played them tough last year and brings back the House while Covington lost coach and several starters. They will have several battles this year if they hope to win that region.
So here we go.GB got transfers,South Pitt got transfers,LC got transfers.Coalfield has transfers coming in.....WHY are we the only ones unde the microscope??I find it hilarious.
I hate to hear that! Those boys have seen so much tragedy! My youngest was close with one of the younger boys before they transferred schools. There was about 6 or 7 of those boys...big family. They tragically lost their mother (murdered) several years ago and now to lose their Dad is hard to fathom. It’s moments like this you have to remember the will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you! Prayers for that family! Sad right here at Father’s Day too.
Happy Father’s Day to all you full of hot air, football loving Coach T posters! Hope you all have a blessed day!
Knox Central 91? Todd Heltons Senior year.
Knox Central 72 got beat by that great Tennessee High team.
Knox Central 99
Maryville has to be considered with all of their state Championships.
Alcoa also has had many grat teams over the years.
Oak Ridge has had several power house teams.
Knox Halls 86 and 96
The Oak Ridge teams way back in the 50's and 60's, National Champs. More Recently, the Riverdale teams of 94 and 01. Riverdale crushed the Owls in a cold, rainy mud bowl in the 01 Semi-Finals.
The 1975 Oak Ridge state championship team was much more talent rich than the 1991 team. Yes the 1991 team had some big names, but remember players from the 75 team such as Dewayne Horton, Dean Nichols, Craig Freeman,Brian Robuck
Gerald Waddle just to mention a few. The 1975 team was 3 deep at every position: and I mean 3 players at every position that could start for almost any team in the state. I don't know if the 1975 team ranks among the greatest in state history but they were one of the best in the history of Oak Ridge football history; better than the '91 team.
The Oak Ridge 1991 state championship team with likes of Eric Underwood at qb, Shawn Summers at tb, Antione Thirft and Curtis Booker at wr, and a strong aggressive defense lead by Ron Black.
Also the 96 team was very good with the likes of Jason Mccaddly, Mike gibson, Brad Redmond, and All American tb Shaun Bohanon
