Porter is way underrated if you ask me. She did everything in the game against Cookeville. I was very impressed and I am glad she didn't shoot more to be honest. I love guards that rebound, don't take bad shots, and get in your grill on defense. Give me 5 of those players please. Definitely one of the best all around guards I have seen play this year.

What about Fulton and Creekwood??? That's the problem with this class. About 20 quality teams that on any other season would be worthy of top ten status! Whoever wins this class may be in conversation with Oakland, Maryville, and Alcoa as the best in the State.

Thoughtful statement question Blazer. I’ve seen Boone in person 3 times over the last 5 years and 2 or 3 dozen times in person over the last 40 years. So here are my random thoughts. 1) it’s harder for a county program to get the resources they need as oppose to special designated school districts such as Maryville, Alcoa, Tullahoma, Greeneville, Oak Ridge, and Betsy. Most counties consist of multiple High Schools. 2) The Janeways, Charlie Coles, are ballers that everybody would love to have, but the Traditional powers have several of them. Betsy and the Devils have produced a ton of D1 prospects. 3) Depth..... it’s a major factor. 4) the little things...... such as splits. Boone has had traditionally huge linemen over the years but have used tight splits and have tried to pound the rock inside. Against the big boys it looks like a mass of humanity and 2 yards and a cloud of dust. Philosophy, we will run the blankety, blank ball against anybody. So everybody’ runs man on the corner and the safety becomes a mlb with a 10 yard run to slam his body into the Boone back. 5) Betsy and the Devils have middle school programs that if those staffs were in HS they would still be called excellent staffs. 6) community expectations. All the little boys run around in Devil Jerseys with their names on the back. Winning begets winning. There is also an alignment from little league through HS. What is your community’s identity? Greeneville’s is the school system, AAA ACADEMICS, the ARTS and ATHLETICS. 7) The weight room and guess what.... Multi Sport athletes that win big in other sports. Basketball, wrestling, soccer, track and baseball. The bar bell is an inanimate object and doesn’t push back. This is your Greene Devils. You don’t have 280 lb stiff legged kids that bench 300. You have big agile athletes that bench 360. 8) Good kids want to play for winning teams. I’m a baller, we move to Fall Branch. I drive up I81. Do I turn left to big DB or right to little db. I TURN LEFT. Everybody calls it recruiting and it is...... caused by winning, facilities, coaching staffs, recruitment by universities and in many cases believe it or not, ACT and fine arts programs. Blazer these are just observations and opinions by someone that has journeyed a long time.

I've put out a preliminary top 15 in each class to generate some discussion. The new classifications has made it especially hard this year! 1. Milan got 2 more transfers from Liberty yesterday. You can call and confirm. And I agree that they’ll find a way to make it legal. Being legal and having integrity are 2 different things. Milan is selling out and I hate to see it. 2. Their attorney responded to TSSAA. I can’t prove that and you can’t prove they didn’t, so we’ll agree to disagree. I don’t post much, but when I do, it’s accurate.

Yup! A talent like Master Teague should never go out of state. UT needs to own the state like it did in the 90's.

In 4A I think you should swap Haywood and GreenEville. I think you should swap Anderson Co. and East Hamilton. I think you should take out Kirby and insert Ridgeway. Also South Gibson and Hardin Co have to be considered somewhere. Maybe in place of Upperman and Carter. Just my two cents. Good work though brother.

Yeah combined 2020 record was 82-35 for those teams. Tough schedule but we should also have a pretty good team too. Looking forward to the fall.

Oak Ridge Head Coach Joe Gaddis has been named Prep Xtra Coach of the Year! If I am not mistaken the Prep Xtra cover East Tennessee's top prep teams.

I am upset that victORy City has to play Bye High on the road agin in 2021. Thank goodness, TBA High is not going to appear on this schedule. Seriously, I love the schedule but it seems really hard.
