  1. I would have to say Reuter and McMinn Central’s Johnnie Morgan. are two of the best in the state not just East TN. There resume speaks for itself.

  2. Some of the ones listed here have lots of wins - but look at the strength of schedule. Also - great players make coaches look good. Look at what a coach does with average players. Buchanan at NG does a great job. The Grainger coach (Bishop) does a great job. Greeneville’s coach (Watts) is tough but she does a great job and has a tough schedule each year. The retired Jefferson Co. Coach (Sinard) who is now Cocke Co. Assistant is a very good coach. Birchfield at Cloudland does a good job - but I think they need to play a tougher schedule.

  3. Hearing that this process is progressing quickly. If what I am hearing is true, South Doyle folks should be really happy.

  8. Obviously the enrollment hike has helped improve their football program. I saw their playoff win at Clinton and was impressed. The QB was really impressive. I hope they continue to grow their program.

  10. #6 got that backside handed to them by Gallatin! #7 got that one dimensional team with 3 1000 yard rushers beat by Gallatin! And for the record in 92’ they were not beating that same Gallatin team, period!!

  11. I was referring to the fact that no one will remember Charleston High after being replaced by Walker Valley. and being an open zone county, it does not just serve northern Bradley County. I know kids who live in the south end that went there and are going there, and that took place from the start, just as some from the northern part are going to Bradley. And a lot of the growth has to be attributed to Danny Coogan taking the principle job after being band director at Bradley and most band students followed him there (pretty much decimated the Bradley Band program). Drew Akins has done a nice job there, after Jon Lovingood started the program and Scott Webb and others did some good work. I hope Alan Morris builds the wrestling program up more before he retires. Alan was one of Bradley's first wrestling team members. (although his son is AD at Cleveland now)

  12. The toughest AA region is in the middle. CPA, Davidson, FRA and Lipscomb will be back after next year. Not even close.

  13. At the end of the day, grace needs to recruit the 3 to 4 players that are difference makers to get where they want to go. Those types of players are not walking the halls at Grace. You develop what you have, and strive to find those players. Everyone in D2 is looking for those kids. They may get to 5 wins but they better stay healthy.

  14. Not likely. Which games that you lost do you think you should have won? Lakeway- maybe. Silverdale maybe. 5-5 was the ceiling. 5-5 will be the ceiling in 2024 as well. I have a feeling that won’t make you happy. Talent level awareness should be addressed quickly it seems.

  15. Sounds like another stab at the last coach. “Develop players” is not the same as turn unathletic people into athletic football players. No one can do that. You don’t see CC with many winning seasons fyi.
