There are a lot of coaches out there lying about who they are and what they know. I understand the game is about being able to learn it, but we tend to forget that you have to have some sort of the knowledge of the sport. I know this is a difficult thing to say, but you cannot just be a fan and coach the game. There should be something about having to be able to play it at least in high school if not college. Then if given a chance do not screw the schools you have been given a chance at. We already have a difficult enough time hiring good coaches and keeping them there. Thomas Morrell did this to my alma mater where he lied to the staff saying he was the best thing since slice bread and caused me a lot of problems. The guy can't coach and is full of himself. I guess that's what we get giving a guy who never stepped foot on a football field and just was a glorified towel boy.

Has anyone else been fooled by a fool before?

Thomas Morrell? I thought this was a post about Butch Jones' days in Knoxville.

Just a thought, is there a time limit on the broadcast? For example, if I record a game on TV, when the time slot ends, so does my recording. The game being over has no relevance. If it happened to be a slow game, lot of fouls?? Maybe they just went over the time slot? Not cool, whatever the case. But I've had it done to me before on regular cable, game go to overtime & I missed all of the OT

Exactly. There's why I mentioned that they may have ran out of time. It's possible that it was all innocent.

But then to ST's point, if I paid for a service, then I expect to get the service.

I was watching our basketball game vs Sale Creek late last night via the NFHS network.  I got to see all but the last 28.7 seconds.

Sale Creek had just knocked down 2 free throws that gave them the lead at 48-47.

SP proceeded to inbounds,   dribbled the ball up to half court,  SP coach was calling a timeout when the stream just ended.  That was it.  The last 28.7 seconds ain't on there.

SP hit a game winning 3 pointer.

Let me ask you a question.   If a school publishes their games on the network,  can they just edit & delete what they don't want others to view?

I don't know the rules and regulations that NFHS has on broadcasting. You would think they would want the whole game shown. The broadcasters could have run out of tape, time, space, had technical difficulties, or just didn't want to show their team getting beat. If it was any of the first, well, sometimes that's the breaks and there's really nothing to do. But if it was the last then that's just poor judgement, poor sportsmanship, poor broadcasting and a lack of integrity. I know that if we pulled the plug intentionally, it wouldn't go over well with the station owner and it wouldn't look good to fans - home or visiting. I don't like losing, but if you sign up to do something, then you have to take the bad with the good.

SP’s first business should be holding on to SP players. I figure some will jump ship to try and play for the young coaches.

You gain some players, you lose some players. It happens.

I don't know if that plays into the decision to not schedule NJ again or not, I just know that I've been told that we are looking elsewhere for a 10th game.

I seen this mess last night as it came across my timeline.

I have no idea what started the melee.

You can see an older gentleman, who is wearing a red hoodie, run across the court in small choppy steps.  His first step going into the stands is a "doozy." He slips & falls into the stands, gathers himself, then monkey crawls up another step,  may or may not push a player in a white Jersey out of the stands, and then gets swallowed up.

I saw two guys sitting beside each other on the top row start scuffling.  Whatever was going on must have been going on for a few moments because as soon as the shoving started, everyone started rushing over.

When I was at the most formative point in growing up, I loved sports at every level...playing at home and in the local park with my friends, in school from 5'th grade until graduation, watching college, NFL, NBA, ECT... I am very appreciative that I lived in the greatest era of pure competitive sports. My school was MY school and I wouldn't have dreamed of going someplace else (rather lose by 50 than play for anyone else) to play. My favorite teams were comprised of a certain set of players, and they stayed with their team for their career for the most part (I can still tell you who played for who and at what position). I'm sad for the state of all sports above school level, and the "instant gratification" generation of players who are only concerned about their image and the immense wealth that comes with being a successful athlete, who have ruined pro sports, are well into ruining college athletics, and have set in motion the cogs that will ruin high school too. These kids now will never be able to recall their "favorite team", because there isn't "team" anymore...just a bunch of people wearing the same uniform trying to stand out from the crowd.

Amen. But we're in the old fart category now, or at least I am. People don't think like us anymore it seems.

Yeah. I know.  It has the potential to shred HS athletics.  I can see it now.  The little 8th grader who could run circles around everyone goes to high school.  Doesn’t play as a freshman.  Mommy and Daddy  thinks they have the next Patrick Mahommes. Next thing we see is a Facebook/Twitter/TikTok:  “I have entered the high school portal.”

Yeah, I'm still waiting for it to destroy college. You already can't keep up with where certain players are. Some have been to 3 schools and still have 2 years to go. I may be overreacting, but the NIL and the transfer portal are going to hurt the game, IMO. We were almost getting to a point at the college level where parity was beginning to show. That's going to be gone now.

Congrats to Willis on the award. Don't think this is a great hire since he inherited a solid Vandy program across town and drove it into the ground.

Yeah, but let's be honest, since Red Sanders 9 out of every 10 coaches in Vanderbilt's history have done the same thing.

    McKenzie Vs SP for rematch.

Don’t forget about OS. OS is youthful. Gordy is also always a contender in East as well. Don’t know a lot about what west teams have returning.

Yes, the G-men and the folks from OZ will have a lot to say about the March to Chattanooga again next year. I'm not sure what Coalfield has coming back, but I expect them to be in the mix.

Been a wet day here in Chattanooga.  A fine mist all day yesterday.  Has kept scoring down. Therefore lots of our score predictions were off more than usual.

Yes, it was a mist, but it's been a steady rain here for the final contest.

I came within a frogs hair of picking Houston in my big ones picks and at the moment I'm regretting not doing it. I guess I'm staying until the Pats pull it out, or Houston scores again.
