  1. Congrats to Coach Rayl, I truly believe that you boys just got a good one if everyone in the community and the ones that he keeps from the previous staff will rally behind him and follow his lead and not try and work against him the Cherokees will start to garner some respect again.
  2. Maybe when Marion hires their next coach both sides can set down and put the silliness behind them and get the big money game back on the schedule.
  3. Best thing that could happen to Jasper would be for him to get it. The people around Jasper would probably rent him a uhaul and help him pack after not making the playoffs with that bunch he had.
  4. Y’all get a little testy on this thread. Does SC have that big QB coming back or did he transfer out yet?
  5. Hard to see the logic in this statement. Meigs is a lot closer to competing with Alcoa than SC is in competing with the Pirates. Probably should have looked up the past scores on that one, and they could have beat them by 100 I’m sure.
  6. Why would you leave a job you just took to the playoffs for the first time in forever to go to a worse program? Kinda a head scratcher on this one or does it say more about the administration or lack their of at Hixson?
  7. Tyner looks like their playing with 13 and a big physical 13 at that. Tyners DLine is as good an any DLine in the state and then when they walk them overhang backers up forget it. Tyner by 14 or more.
  8. Well I was off on two fronts. Had you told me that SP holds GVille to a TD Defensively I would have told you to go ahead a book the reservations for the title game and on the flip side I would have lost it all if you told me GVille would hold SP to only a 1 TD offensively, never saw that one coming from all I had heard, been told and seen! As it turned out SP had the least amount of penalties that they have had all year and their Defense played the best it had all year for 3 and a half quarters, the problem is you play 4 quarters! Oh yea to add insult to injury I was told told that they believed that kickoff return TD was believed to have been the only special teams TD of the year unless they gave up one against CCS. It’s always nice when things go your way and pretty painful when they don’t! Congrats to the GVille boys on one heck of a hard fought win cause they worked hard for that one. The way these young Pirates fought and clawed their way back into the game when down 14 to 0 is pretty telling as to the character of this young bunch and the staff that Coach Stone has assembled to coach these boys. The future looks very bright for the Pirates. Gordonsville loosing 20 something Seniors has to be a difficult rebuild for next year, better do what you can this year.
  9. From what I’ve seen seen in the stats and articles and the folks I’ve spoke with, with close ties to the SP program indicate that as long as it’s not a mud bowl that SP couple pull away late by a couple score. Nothing I’ve seen or heard of Gordonsville indicate that SP will have trouble scoring, ENOUGH! Not saying their gonna hang 40 on a well coached bigger team but SP is going to get theirs. No one other than the Alphabet School has slowed them down. With that being said the SP defense will be the difference in this win or loss! This SP team as a whole is better coached than many years in the past with at least 1 former Head Coach, 2 or 3 Previous Coordinators and 4 or 5 that was retained by Coach Stone going into this new year from past years within the program. Not many programs loose the number of talented players that South Pitt did off last years team and still have folks talk about them having a legitimate shot to make it back to the title game again without quality coaches, coaching them younger ones up like they have. From what I’m hearing they are fully loaded and have prepped well and have all their hands on deck. Also talked with a Gordonsville contact who indicated that they are completely healthy and ready to go as well. He feels confident in his new head coach and indicates Gordonsville has been preparing for this potential matchup since the guy took the job at Gordonsville several months back. Sounds like it could be the game of the year about to go down.
  10. Gordonsville is a good single A Football team but they are not better than Murphy and no where near the Caliber of Christian not sure where your getting your information but it’s not accurate. Could Gordonsville win this game, sure they could but I just don’t see it. If South Pitt is healthy I see them winning 14 to 21 points.
  11. Believe Stone might just be a more sound team this year. I think it will be close one, give the edge to Stone
  12. Congrats to the Central boys heard they were the more disciplined team tonight with a lot fewer turnovers. Once the wheels fell off it when down hill from there. As far as what happened on the sideline supposedly the Senior QB was frustrated cause things weren’t going in their favor and he started playing the blame game with his players, coach took him out with a little bit of time left and got pissed off and acted like a fool and had an exchange with the coach and the boys dad which was actually an asst coach also got butt hurt and acted in the same manner as his son and of course told the coach off and then they exited stage left and the show was over. May not be exactly how it went down but that’s pretty close from what I was told. On to round ball season, good luck to the central boys in the next round
  13. No disrespect Sir, it’s obvious you have not seen #15 for SP play in a game this year based on your ridiculous comment! If you had seen him play then you would know that the Pirate kid is special. He doesn’t just have a big time arm which he certainly does and can make all the throws but he is built like a linebacker/ Fullback and will run over you also. Matter of a fact from my understanding he’s always been a fullback/linebacker. The most impressive fact about the young man is that this is his first year ever playing QB so he’s just getting started, no question he has the ability to play college ball. At what level nobody knows but he’s s gonna have options unless he chooses baseball as his primary college choice. This may help you better understand what kinda player he is. I have heard from many SP faithful that go back for years and years and many is of the opinion that right now that he’s probably the second best and potentially the best QB to ever put on a Pirate uniform by the time his career winds up, so put that in perspective cause we all know the Pirates have produced some studs through the years in that storied program. So yea anyone that has witnessed him play this year knows this young is special!
  14. If Hixson’s running back can get going I could see Hixson winning over Stone Memorial.
  15. Well the powder blue team from Parts unknown in McMinn will have to play their best game to win in Dunlap Friday Night. And No Sir, this powder blue McMinn teams OL/DL is no where near as physical as Bledsoe’s. Signals OLine and DLine gave you guys fits, I assure you, you will not be lining up against Signal Mnts. lines Friday. And to me that’s where the games won! Maybe I’m wrong but the more I see of McMinn this game may present a long bus ride home for the boys in powder blue. Valley team by 14 maybe more is you boys aren’t prepared to play a full 4 quarters!
  16. I’ve seen both teams play and it’s my opinion that is Sequatchie’s Senior heavy line shows up and takes the game over this game want be close. Sequatchie offense is way more dynamic than what’s I’ve seen from McMinns. Sequatchie will be harder to defend. Now if it proves that McMinn has better athletes than Sequatchie across the board then it’s a pickup. Should be an electric crowd and the place should be packed with home and visitors packing the place out. From what I’m hearing Sequatchie is healthy across the board anyone know if McMinn is coming into this game fully loaded? Sickness is going around all parts of the state how is it affecting both these teams?
  17. Don’t know much about Hixson but I do know that they have a stud at RB. Not the biggest of athletes but if he gets a crease or on the edge better hope he pulls a hammy cause he has a chance to take it the distance. Got decent size and probably the best overall Hixson team since 2015 or so.
  18. Gonna take a big physical disciplined team to have a chance to beat Tyner. Their Defense is as good as you will see in 4A and Down, outside of Alcoa. This game will be over by halftime.
  19. There does appear to be talk of Alcoa moving up. Whether it pans out or not 3A looks to be loaded overall.
  20. Sequatchie 35 Whitwell 21. If Sequatchie’s Oline ever decides they want to take the game over Sequatchie could win by 30.
  21. Did Giles have some kids transfer out in addition to the seniors that graduated off last years team cause this years team that I’ve seen on film is certainly no where near the caliber as a whole as last years team. I assumed y’all had some kids transfer out of the program was curious if that’s the case.
  22. If you guys can run QB Power Read you got a chance, Marion hasn’t figured out how to stop that yet. Lbs get lost in the shuffle.
  23. I can see Whitwell putting up 40+ this week. New OC there is trying to make a name for him self and got some talented young kids to help him get it done. 42 - 14
  24. It’s early but I think Marion is in for another shootout this week. It appears they can score but defense must improve in a hurry to have a chance against a well coached Tyner Team. Tyners defense will be much better than Sequatchie’s was this year under their new DC. Tyner has a seasoned guy on Defense and with better athletes to work with. Marion will be lucky to score near the 28 point range and I just don’t see them holding Tyner under that.
  25. A lot riding on this game to be so early in the year. Going into the year this was the game for second place in the region behind Giles, which I’m sure everyone agrees is the head of the class until some beats them.
