  1. It also tells me that if you attend a 1A/2A school, the chances of you playing D1 football at the FBS level are very slim.
  2. I do believe Houston County should be in the top 10. Despite their offense taking a major hit in October of last year, there two losses were only a combined of 8 points. I also don't know how good their schedule really is, because I'm weary of how good teams that are north of I-40 but west of Dickson and east of the Tennessee river are. In 2A Riverside should've been as high as 5, they did beat Waverly last year, and they went deeper in the playoffs than an inconsistent McKenzie team and Houston County. In 3A is interesting because region 7-3A is represented a lot on this list. However, McNairy Central should at least receive HM votes and not Westview, and I would've put Wooddale in over South Gibson. In 4A is fine with me. In 5A there's absolutely no love for Dyer County at all. Choctaws played on Black Friday last year, just want to throw that out. In 6A, another team played in the semifinals last year, and not even made the list. That team is Houston. Houston even defeated Whitehaven last year in the quarterfinals, and Whitehaven was #4 on the list. This is just another top ten list from a media outlet in Middle and East Tennessee that is wanting to do something for fun. Unfortunately, they did not do any homework, especially to West Tennessee teams. Kudos to FridayMainEvent for doing this, but they can do better. They love their East and Middle Tennessee teams for sure!! I can definitely say that!!!
  3. Just curious as to why McKenzie is ahead of Riverside...
  4. Fred Copeland. Last year at Westwood and served as an assistant at Stratford and Independence
  5. Fauci is losing a lot of credibility for this pandemic. Also, from the football side, as long as July doesn't get "harmed" I believe they'll play in August.
  6. I went back and looked at the top 25 players in the state of Tennessee (according to Rivals) and wondered what school they attended and what classification they played in. In 2016, Dillon Mitchell from White Station (6A) was the #1 overall player. 15 of the top 25 players attended public schools. 1A: 1 3A: 1 4A: 3 5A: 3 6A: 7 In 2017, Tee Higgins from Oak Ridge (5A) was the #1 overall player. 20 of the top 25 players attended public schools. 3A: 4 4A: 1 5A: 6 6A: 9 In 2018, Cade Mays from Knox Catholic (5A) was the #1 overall player. 17 of the top 25 players attended public schools. 3A: 2 4A: 2 5A: 3 6A: 10 In 2019 Woodi Washington from Oakland (6A) was the #1 overall player. 14 of the top 25 3A: 1 4A: 1 5A: 3 6A: 9 In 2020, Jay Hardy from D2 McCallie was the #1 overall player. He does not count on this list but 18 of the top 25 players attended public schools. 1A: 1 5A: 5 6A: 12 In the class of 2021, Hardin County's (4A) Hudson Wolfe is the #1 overall player in our state. 15 of the top 25 players are currently enrolled at public schools. 3A: 2 4A: 1 5A: 1 6A: 11
  7. If Milan has a consistent speed zone, I’ll go there more often!! The far I get into Milan (coming in from the south side of town) is the Smokin’ Hot BBQ. I haven’t had Chow Wagon in two years.
  8. There's always going to be misconceptions and even a few exceptions to recruiting. No one is perfect. Every coach would wish he didn't pass on player A, instead he went with player B. Every GM would like to have "this" trade back. Also, the power of technology was different with Patrick played. No social media, no hudl, all he had going for was a class VHS videotape. That is what probably hurt him. Also, give credit to Ole Miss for developing Patrick. Remember, one of the best current running backs in college football was the #21 best player in his state.
  9. I would figured McKenzie received some applicants, but arguably none of them probably match their thinking. Just hope that Wilkins didn't push the administration buttons on getting the job (which I don't believe he would do that). McKenzie's issue is on the gridiron, not the court.
  10. Agreed to that as well. More strategy and fundamentals play a huge role.
  11. I agree and I wonder how schools are doing that hires both a girls and boys coach. Hope he doesn't get mentally exhausted knowing that his workload will carry even more.
  12. Unfortunately, this is not true, and stats based off recruiting numbers will proved that. I believe you're misguided about what goes on inside colleges based off recruiting and how that works.
  13. But the kicker at Lexington claims he is a 5* as well, and the kicker at Westview claims that he is a 4.5* (which no one gives out "half stars"). According to Rivals, our best player in the state is a 4*. You're telling me that on April 5, 2020 is the day where we have two 5* kickers, a 4.5* (somehow) kicker, but our best player is not a 5*? Man, times have changed.
  14. Are we expecting pyrotechnics like they have in Anderson County, or a lazy river?
  15. The most unfortunate situation is that we will always look back to the year 2020, as the year known for no true state champion. We will always put an asterisk beside 2020 in sports both in the amateur and professional world.
  16. Just curious, why so pessimistic?
  17. Kudos to TSSAA for not just “giving up”’ after today’s meeting. Really hope this can happen.
  18. I’m open but I think the basketball system is okay as of now. However, the changes I would make would be in football, specifically D-II Class A and hopefully finding a way to go to 5 classes in D-1 if possible.
  19. Yes, some females play both women soccer and volleyball. You're fine!
  20. It’s an interesting topic that’s relative to baseball/softball. If schools are going to suspend or cancel their baseball/softball seasons, then they shouldn’t be going to class. Pretty simple. Also I agree with this, because major chain restaurants are not closing; as well as workout gyms, and shopping centers/malls. It’s weird.
