Soddy-Daisy brings out a community as much as anyone for pure people quantity. Didn't bother owls

Soddy Daisy and DB are different.... i've seen both. If the crowd doesnt bother the owls it'll be a first.. at last weeks Science Hills game their QB had trouble calling audibles and plays at the line because of the noise, kinda reminds one of Neyland stadium.

Dang, I hope it doesn't remind you of one at Neyland Stadium lately. There will be no scoring at all if that's the case. It's a good thing we have HS football cause The Vols no offense is pathetic.

Forget Oak Ridge and Ooltewah!!! Both teams have to win TWO games before they could even have a shot at each other!!

If I'm anyone in Region 2, I wouldn't want to have to play anybody else in Region 2 again! So let's quit talking about that and talk about DB/Ooltewah!

I think this is the best first round game in the state. The Owls have to be the best 4th seed team in the state, and DB's history and program speaks for itself! I know the Owls players that came up just short last year have been wanting to see these guys again, so this is a great opportunity. At this stage in the game, both teams have the skill to win. It's just going to come down to who can execute and not make stupid mistakes (penalties, etc.).

I haven't seen DB play this year, so like someone said above, I think the best people to comment are the Oak Ridge fans.

Go Owls!

Congrats DB Indians on your 6th straight outright Big East Title. This one is espescially sa-weet because of the youth of this team. DB lost so much talent not only last year, but the season before, that this season was really looked upon as rebuilding only. Nobody expected much from this Indian Team, loaded with upcoming but inexpeirenced Juniors, this Indians Team has just kept the Tradition going. The '05 Indians Defense is the Best Defense Graham Clark has ever had, and almost everyone is coming back for '06. But let's play out '05 first.

DB is @ Home in Round 1 vs a very good Ooltewah team. DB is 9-1, Ooltewah is 8-2. DB has a 4-1 record at home this season, loosing to Oak Ridge in Week 2 @ home 20-3... since then Dobyns-Bennett has won 6 straight games, 3 at home and 3 on the road.

Ooltewah is without a doubt the best #4 Seed in the State, in any Classification.

The Owls are 3-2 on the Road this Season, loosing to William Blount and Farragut.

It's hard to believe that an 8-2 team, that came back from a 30-7 deficit to Oak Ridge to win, is the #4 Seed, but here we are. These 2 Teams, both ranked in the 5A Top 10 playing in Round 1 of the Playoffs. Not sure, but I bet that is not going to happen any other game in Round 1, any Classification.

There is not much History between these 2 Schools, last season DB defeated the Owls in Round 1 (21-14)... that is the only these 2 Teams have played against each other. DB was playing without star WR Lamon Williams due to being ejected in the Final Regular Season Game against Science Hill.

Graham Clark's Overall Home Playoff Record is 16-5, going 9-1 since the 2000 Season. The only Home Playoff loss in that time period was to Oak Ridge in 2003.

I for one am not ready for the Season to end and I know the DB Coaches and Players are ready for the Playoffs. Region 2 5A thinks Round 1 is a piece of cake.... I expect the Region 1 5A Teams have a little more Pride than that.

Roll Tribe Roll

Giddy Up!!

Great post Art and you are correct, this team has "kept the Tradition going"! I expect this to continue and this group of Mighty Indians will keep the Tradition of D-B making an early playoff exit going! As Yogi Berra once said........."this is deja vu all over again!!!

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
