CloudlandLander2009
Ok, so here's one of the big questions, who has the best band??? Big bands, small bands, concert, marching, jazz, basketball, and everything else. Who is your pick for best band?
voiceofrockets
For show band it has to be Pearl Cohn! White house used to have a strong band as well as Union City. Now I'm talking about marching because thats my fav. Concert band is only there so ya dont loose your chops till next marching season
CloudlandLander2009
Well, i'm not just saying this because it's my school, but i thought that the Cloudland Highlander Marching Band for 2005 was great! At the Greenville Band Classic they had best Drum Major in their division, Best Drumline in their division, and Best Band in their division. For a band with about 19 people, that is REALLY good. In addition to all that, the Drum Major had the SECOND highest score of the DAY!! He was only beaten by the drum major from Dobyns Bennett {even beat Science Hill!!}

eagles_fan12
columbia central
bellgo
I heard Pearl-Cohn's marching is real good. White House, Springfield, and Greenbrier were good back in the day, but have dropped off quite a bit recenty. I wonder if Chattanooga Brainerd still has a good band. thecrippler2222
to get the discussion about concert bands goin i think that martin luther kings wind ensemble is the best around. and they have a small chamber group performing mozarts gran partita soon so look for that it will be incredible. there are very few high schoolers anywhere that can pull that off. crown2618
Umm have you ever heard of some bands with the names of McGavock, Columbia Central, Halls (Knoxville), Brentwood, Cleveland, Dobyns-Bennett....these are by far the best bands in all facets of a band program....end of discussion
hallsfan89
I agree with crown on this one. You have to look at how bands do on the national level. For example, D-B was invited to the national concert band festival. Halls, McGavock, Cleveland, and Ooltewah, just to name a few, compete on the national level consistently.
