Best Bands

Well I would like to say that my high school band was the best in the state but im not one of these people that are going to get on here and lie. McGavock and Columbia Central are without a doubt the top 2 bands in the state. Small bands Adamsville and Huntington are always excellent. Im from Wayne County High and we have a good program and do a great job but I dont feel we are by any means the best... we were 12th in the state this past year and probably could have done better but we lost a very awesome director and got one that has yet to make any difference in the program...

I have to say that the Milan Middle School Jazz Band is one of the best in West TN!

Band is not all MARCHING band.

 

As for concert band, Farragut has it pretty good. We sent 8 people to All-State.

You've named some very good bands, but my vote has to go to McGavock.

anyway, Munford and Brighton from Tipton Co. just north of Memphis are really good. Houston High near Memphis has about 300 in the band.

Munford and Houston look and sound like SEC large state school bands.

 

They were in a killer band competition at the Liberty Bowl last year vs. Arkadelphia (top Arkansas h.s. band) and Madison (I think) Jackson Mississippi huge band.

Wartburg has an excellent band for the number of students that participate

Ravenwood owns all in the band, our snare can kick your snare's butt any day of the week and twice on sunday

i dunno about the BEST football team. they just won state thats all. teams have bad games. like farragut. they have a bad game everytime they play oak ridge. farragut would kill ravenwood. i mean we would slaughter them. but Farragut has the best band too. even though i hate it and i think its stupid. but i guess ppl can do whatever they want in high school. woohoo go admirals.

Tyner. I've seen their band at a couple of football games and they are amazing. They really add to the game-night environment.

McNairy Central is a great band! Oh yeah and don't forget my alma mater, Huntingdon! I miss those days.
