Clinton is hurting for a quarterback coach. :justwrestle: The quarterback coach and offensive coordinator is Jason Phillips. Phillips played for George Quarles at Maryville. He coached under Scott Meadows at Wiliam Blount and coached under Larry Kerr at Anderson County. Those are 3 good coaches to learn from.

Jason is wanting to install Maryville's offense at Clinton. Andy Shattuck is going to let Jason have control of the offense.

The key for Clinton is for the football players staying out for football. So many kids have quit over the years. The Clinton Middle School team wins their conference nearly every year. They need to keep those boys together.

What is the point of running M'Ville's O without M'Ville's players?

A lot of kids won't go out for football if the coach wants to run the ball every play. In Maryville's offense they use every player. I know that when Maryville was running the wingT under Hammontree you never saw the tall athletic receivers that Maryville has now.

Not only has the winning brought out kids for football for Maryville. The kids love Quarles offense.

I would bet my house that Clinton has all kinds of great athletes in that school.

They really do, Ron. The problem is that most of them are basketball only or baseball only or basketball/baseball athletes.

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
