Trader--How many of the teachers at Hillwood (by their on account) have left since Lang arrived on the scene. I think it is a large number. :P

Hoganknows, 34 teachers left after last year (2005) :D . There are currently 26 more openings posted for this coming fall. You can see for yourself on the Metro website. Also in the last two years they have lost the following coaches........

Sam Young, Steve Brown, Mike Carden, John Moore, Chuck Lewis, Winston Gamble, Keith Dearing, Jerry Link and Mandi Morgan. Young, Brown, Carden, Moore, Lewis, Dearing and Link all coached two sports. Red flag? :thumb:

As a former player for coach Link I feel very bad about this situation. He was my last link to the school and the team. That is kind of sad since I played only 10 years ago. I think he will get a much better opportunity. Some one needs to step in b/c in 10 years Hillwood Athletics has gone from one of the better programs in the city to the biggest joke in Metro. Best of luck to Coach Link, he is a great coach and a better person.

The question remains can any coach come in and expect to have the talent to compete in the very tough region that Hillwood plays in?

Alot would have to change before anyone could be successfull in football. It is a bad situation in that school. Nice area through.

New coach would have to recruit players and not get caught and Link's regime did.

There are no schools in Metro that are the same as they were. It will never be like it should be or could be compared to the past.

Very true..last fall - football - Lavergne @ Glencliff, the home team had a couple of dozen fans on the home bleachers...the visitor side was nearly full.

Glencliff band - about 20 kids. Lavergne band - over 100.

Metro people (kids AND parents) need to snap out of their malaise about sports and other extracarricualar activies, get their butts out of the mall food courts and back into things that matter, i.e. - kids are only kids once - then its gone.

Extra carriculars are a vital part of a complete education.

GET BACK INVOLVED PEOPLE!!!

(not just when the team is winning, either!!)

How do you get caught? Is metro not fully open zoned now?

    • Great to meet you too.  We're going to work hard to get back.
    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
    • Hope you enjoy it King and good to meet you at state this year. Good luck to the Lady Landers. Keep battling.
