The only person left from the old staff is Mose Phillips.

The principal did not pursue any of the staff. You need to ask him why.

There are plenty of athletes at Metro schools.

How committed are the administrations at each Metro school to athletics, i.e., football?

What is Metro doing as a system to keep and reward coaches?

In Middle Tennessee, there is not a tougher coaching job than those at the Metro schools. Someone in the Metro system has to start taking care of coaches.

If the buck keeps getting passed, where does it stop? Garcia's desk?

Very true and very sad.

It's the same problem with every opening in Metro. A sometimes clueless administrator hiring a coach with no guarantees that the administrator will still be at the school the next year. The jobs should be board appointed based on a reliable committee's recommendation.

Why have a remote committee and board do the hiring?

The administrator has to back up the coach.

The principal is the boss on-site who runs

the school.

Why not hire administrators who have an interest

in sports and supporting coaches?

Why doesn't the "board" start supporting sports and coaches?

Do you think private schools support sports? Why do they?

JMO, but it is my understanding that most Metro Principals have their PHd (Pile it higher and deeper) or are working to get theirs. I would guess that most of these people never participated in athletics while in high school or college and they have never coached a sport. If they are not comfortable with sports or understand athletics they are not going to place any emphasis on them. The reason that county schools have better athletic programs than Metro schools is because the principal knows that they will come under fire and loose their job if they don't support athletics. When was the last time a metro principal attend a minor sport athletic event? I have been told that most don't attend the football or basketball games.
