He isn't gettin walked because, well look who is hitting behind him. He will break the HR record if not this year, next year. He's awesome.

the ironic thing is Albert's not a "home run hitter". He's just a great hitter who hits a lot of HR, like Ted Williams. Very few strikeouts, can handle most all pitches, has power when he gets it up, it goes out. But not a swing for the fences 150 stikeout a year guy.

There is a great article in SI about Albert and his work ethic and his beautiful swing. He is such an inspiration to me. If you haven't read this article, you really should.

Can he? Yes! Will he? No! He's not going to see many pitches, after the all-star break, and even fewer down the stretch.

I bought the SI to read the article on the way home today. Great article. And Pujols is a great example of a player to be like both on AND off the field.

 

I'm really starting to think he may make a run at this. Everyone is correct that he's not going to get many pitches, but the lineup around him is really starting to pick it up as well. Teams may be forced to pitch to him, whether they want to or not. And he's such a good hitter that he can punish you no matter where the ball is. If it's over the plate, he can do something with it.

I heard a report the other day that Pujols claims he`s not a homerun hitter. He said something to the effect...."I`m a line drive hitter, I just hit em a long ways."
