TN HS players drafted

Based on the HS kids that were drafted, anyone surprised that others didn't get picked? Not to up on the West side of the state, but from the East side, I was a little surprised that W. Miller from Bearden wasn't drafted late as well as Lucas from Halls. To my understanding, both have (or are going to) sign with JUCO schools. I would definetly put both of them in the same league as some of those that did get drafted.

I was a little socked that Catapano (Farragut & North Carolina) and Goodenow (Overton & Vanderbilt) didn't get drafted.

I was also surprised about Catapano as well as a couple of other E. Tennessee players - Lockwood and Cannon. It could be the word got out that these guys were intent on enrolling in college and the pros decided not to waste a pick.

Yep! I think the key word is 'signability'. Grades/Family/Income/Makeup are all factors that come into play...

 

If you are a kid who wants to go to school for the experience and the education wouldn't you rather live in a dorm, travel on nice buses/fly and play on weekends and perhaps a day or two during the week and have someone else do your laundry and sit in classrooms next to pretty coeds or travel from town to town in old busses, eat out of brown paper sacks or fast food and practice in the morning and play in the afternoon seven days a week with no pretty coeds around....

even so though i thought catapano or lockwood would go atleast in the later rounds. most people in the 40-50 rounds are probably not going to sign anyway.

Hopefully, all of the Vandy signees will go to Vandy instead of going pro.

Talked to his Dad last night. It will be a couple weeks before anything is definate.

I thought he would go on to Vandy. But he can't go wrong either way and I am sure the Devil Rays will set aside money for his college tuition. Good luck.

it is usualy written in his contract that if he goes pro and then wants to go to college that the club will pay for it

yeah im a little surprised catapano didnt get drafted. even if he wouldnt sign i think he shoulda atleast been drafted especially after his performances in the playoffs. atleast he is going to a good north carolina team.

Tar Heels are a very young team and will be good for several yrs.
