Alcoa Vs. Fulton

Alcoa played an undermanned Maryville team and then they beat the snot out of a poor CAK bunch. I'll give you the fact that Anderson Co. is not that good this year but Austin East is a different story. The Road Runners are 0-3 right now but I'll bet you just about anything that they'll finish the year out at 7-3 and be playing either Fulton or Knoxville Catholic again in the second round of the playoffs. They barely lost in the opener to a very good team in Red Bank. They had a "down performance" which I believe was a carryover from the Red Bank game when they played Fulton. Last week they played well at times in the loss to Catholic. Austin East will wind up as a pretty good football team MARK MY WORDS!!!! They won't lose another game before the playoffs arrive guaranteed.

Alcoa smoked Fulton last year and based on what they've accomplished thus far this year and the previous two years they have got to be the favorite to win this game. I'm still going to take Fulton to win. Those two defensive tackles are gigantic and it will be awfully tough for Alcoa to block either of them. If the Falcons can prevent Lanxter from killing them with big plays and run the football with Rogan I don't think they'll lose this one. Falcons WIN!!!!

You can't compare playing Maryville to playing A-E. Yeah, A-E MIGHT go 7-3 and make it to the 2nd round of the usually weak 3A, Maryville WILL go 15-0 and win their 3rd straight championship. Sure they were missing Tank, but he wouldn'tve made a huge difference, ask any Maryville fan.

A "usually weak 3A"???? This must be the day where everyone wants to argue with me or something I guess. 3A from top-to-bottom is far better than 2A this year my friend. That opinion will hold true even if Alcoa wins Friday night. Look at what happened when Crockett Co. played Milan (2A powerhouse vs 3A powerhouse) in week one. Another example would be Macon Co. beating Westmoreland (a 3A playoff contender vs a 2A playoff contender).

Some of the better teams in Class 3A after week two:

Fulton

Knoxville Catholic

David Lipscomb

Dyersburg

Crockett Co.

Covington

Jackson South Side

Now besides Alcoa and Goodpasture, who beat Lipscomb in week zero, I would like for you to name me another 2A school that could beat any one of those seven teams if they were to line up and play tomorrow. Milan is already eliminated from the list and before you mention them I'll go ahead and eliminate Huntingdon for you as well. They aren't better than at least 5 of the 7 teams I listed. That's an honest opinion. Don't even think about giving me Antwan's team, Smith Co., because they aren't even an option. Catholic has proven that for the last two years now.

IN OTHER WORDS TOM:

Alcoa is THE ONLY 2A TEAM that could win a state title in Class 3A and THAT IS IT!!!

BC- compared to 4A (which is what Tom was talking about) 3A is weak

Alcoa is solid, more so than last year. I'm sure that Fulton will play a better game than they did a year ago but I don't think it will be enough. If Fulton cannot throw the ball effectively then they are going to have another long night. Alcoa runs a lot of players in and out of the game on both sides of the ball. For the most part the Alcoa line contained Maryville from getting to Cobb and I'm sure they can do the same with the Fulton line. Alcoa can win by running and by airing it out, Fulton is going to have to force some turnovers if they are going have a chance. Through 2 games, Alcoa has 1 turnover.

Alcoa 35

Fulton 14

A healthy Tank would have made a difference. Unfortunaltely he is still banged up. Maryville needs a healthy Tank. Without a healthy Tank there is no way they win state.

Good luck to Alcoa friday night. I may take a radio and listen to the Alcoa/Fulton game.

Wasn't Tank banned from playing that game, anyways thats beside the point. Tank would have made a difference. Still, maryville minus tank is still better than fulton. Alcoa will do their thing and win this one. Fulton may rely too much on a few stars and struggle. IF Fulton is 1 dimensional there will be no game, kinda like UT v Cal, UT stopped the heisman candidate and won with players unknown from last year (the linebackers, and O line), yeah Alcoa doesn't have Warren, Lindsay, and Fiegler, along with alot more, but they are a team and play as one. IF fulton shuts down shiverdecker then they have to worry about the WR's and Cobb on his feet, but that won't happen. Fulton is a very good 3a team, and I look forward to the game, but I don't see Fulton making it as close as maryville.

Tank and 3 other players had to sit out the Alcoa game. Tank wouldn't have played much anyway against Alcoa because he was banged up. He didn't play against Clinton. I heard he will be playing this week.

For Fulton to win they have to shut down Shiverdecker. They need to take their chances with Cobb and those receivers. Fulton needs to be able to pass some against Alcoa. They will not run it down Alcoa's throat.

I think Alcoa's balanced offense, tough defense and better special teams will win this game for them.

Coming from an AE fan, I'm very disappointed in the comment that ILUVSPORTS posted about AE's team. Like someone stated, AE isn't as bad as you are putting it. YEs, they're 0-3 but look the schedule favors AE and its theirs to lose. 7-3 is a reachable goal and in my opinion it will happen. But think back to last year, what team started 0-3 and made the Playoffs and finished 7-3? Fulton showed last year that it can be done. So ILuvSports, quit hating on the Roadrunners they'll be back in the hunt by November..

Big Country- Thanks for the Love you're showing AE they need all the encouragement they can get...

Now to this game: I think Alcoa has to many weapons for the Falcons so I'm going for Alcoa.. I think it may be a close game with Alcoa winning by 10...
