While I don't understand your first point, you seem to miss the fact that unless Maryville is put in the Region 1, they will have to play WB (both being in Region 2) when they move to 5A.

 

Plus, I'd bet the gate wouldn't be much different at all.

It just seems odd to me that they're so close to the 5A cutoff. Makes you think, no? If they were in 5A, they would most likely be in Oak Ridge's and WB's Region, so we wouldn't have to listen to 03 whine about wanting to drop WB in favor of Oak Ridge.

Maryville should schedule what powell has:, Mccallie, webb, farragut, as there games out of region.

why? powell, central, william blount, and alcoa all think they can beat maryville! so i guess they can right??? Maryville isn't 5a because they don't have enough students. It's fact. How can you lie about number of students? you can't. You are the one whining...get over the fact that MHS beats you every year.

 

Maryville's out of region schedule include alcoa...THE university of alcoa...i would love to see powell play them

 

So you just sit patiently with your mouth shut until maryville does grow large enough to be 5a...then you might get second in the region behind central...but until then...JUST KEEP RUNNING THROUGH YOUR P

I've already been hearing internal rumblings from the county school (I never call them by name) that THEY are looking to drop the game as well..who cares who would be in maryville's 5A region...they would just be whining the way Central, Powell and West are...Oak Ridge or DB or whoever...IF YOU DON"T LIKE THEM, JUST BEAT THEM!

The classification for a 5A school is over 1358 for football,

 

So you tell me where maryville should be playing

Im statins facts too they are 70 students over the regultions as of right now.

Careful Powellfan, don't stir that up too much. It seems like everytime someone mentions that topic, it hits a nerve in every Maryville fan's body. I think Maryville likes to schedule non-region games within Blount County because it's good for the local fans. Personally, I like the idea. Sure, playing WB and Heritage every year is almost pointless because it isn't a challenge, but the Alcoa game is always worth it. I would love to see Maryville venture outside of Blount County and schedule some other teams to play (just like 2002-03 against Mo. West). Obviously Oak Ridge would be a good opponent, but what about McCallie, Brentwood Academy, Riverdale, Ooltewah, or DB?
