Yes, Riverdale did win the match between THE RIDGE and The Warriorettes. And again yes, Anne Marie Lanning was an allaround player and led Riverdale. It has been obvious that the All Miss Tennessee Candidate Lanning has distanced herself from the rest of the field with 30 points, over ten assists, numerous rebounds and steals, and more importantly made her teammates better in a 9 point lead over Oak Ridge. Alex Bivins had 10.

Those who have watched AML see nothing different from than from the regular seasona and can only stand and applaud this hard working player for her effort and her winning attitude. Now two to go and Coach Burt may have finished his best coached team since he had been at Riverdale. Congrats to Coach Burt.

i still believe AML is becoming a more complete player every time she takes the court...she posts almost every stat possible, i think she's had 6 blocks between the last 2 games!

 

warriors got the W, all that counts, but we were a little sloppy tonight (credit oak ridge and MTSU-itis). definately have to step up tommorrow but i would expect nothing less from the lady warriors.

Congrats on the win riverdale. AML played like AML always does. She controlled the game. Great effort by OR. They will be a force to reckon with next year because they dont lose anybody. As for tommorrow night, if Riverdale can beat EAST they will win the championship no doubt in my mind. I am curious to see how they play against east since east presses the whole game. Riverdale should win butif they play like they did at the end when OR started to press they could be in trouble. AML will need alot of help tomm night from her teammates due to the speed of east. Good luck riverdale, bring the gold ball back to the dale.

Some has been said on this forum about Riverdale and especially itsteam and AML in particular about work ethic. it is likely not enough has been said on the subject or the obvious work ethic 7AAA players have exhibited thruout this season. In past years, due to situations, maybe sometimes the intensity effort has not been exhibited as in others but Riverdale and Lanning and teammates certainly carries the banner of 7 as well as the current teams in 7, 8 and 9. It sometimes is uevident due to record, etc that some teams may be suspect. AML, and TD were certainly players that when seen, exhibited those qualities which stood out. They effected the whole District and now in a State Tournament AML is recognized for the trait. She thinks, I am sure, nothing about the recognition but the rest of us not only think about it but appreciate her attitude and especially the attitude of her parents for their effort in her upbringing and the opportunities she had.

if you look at 7AAA, you will see those qualities on just about every team and can recognize the names mentioned. As long as the Great Coaches remain in leadership positions and continue to place their emphasis on these trhings, Great Players will continue to be developed and Great parents will provide those opportunites for us to watch what is happening. WOW WHAT A COMPLETE GAME BY MY LADY WARRIORS. I AM VERY PROUD OF THEM...many said on thursday night that memphis east would get us and we couldnt handle their athletic abilties many said that we would probably get beaten pretty good well all i have to say to them is...take that....we were definatly the better team tonight we handled their press very well and when they were pounding ANne Maire we had other players step up and make some shots!!!While Anne Marie gets the press which she deserves we have a very good team which i have been saying all along as long as Jessica keeps shooting when she is open and nikki gets abut 10 points (clarke is getting some of those points)we will be hard to beat well so far i have been right and now we have ONE MORE GAME to achieve the goal you have been working so hard for your enitre basketball career ALEX thank you for conintueing to shoot even though you missed some early i knew they would start falling for you....SHEELENA although stats dont show what you bring to the team your hard work on defense and your tough attitude is a BIG thing to this team ANNE MARIE keep doing what you are doing girl you do a great job of finding the open girl or taking it yourself without forcing anything (too much)lol we have one more game great job tonight

GO LADY WARRIORS!!!!

      Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.

      Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.

      He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
