There were a lot of great moments this year. My greatest moments from Fulton....

1) Winning the State title for the 3rd time in 4 years

2) D Freeney's spectacular catch against Knox Catholic in the Quarterfinals to give us the lead for the first time late

3) Playing with Dennis Rogan all year

4) The intro of the black jersey against Austin-East

Of course, there were many more memories I'll look back on, but all these and the rest of the memorable moments are all dedicated to K Walker, who truly pushed us to victory yesterday...

Milan had a transfer student that TSSAA had apparently cleared...after 5 games they declared him ineligible and they had to forfiet the games he had played in...

I would add to my list above the way Milan recovered...class act...and Austin playing hurt was an inspiration...great kid...great family

When #2 ranked Jo Byrns came into Cascade and beat up on #5 ranked Cascade. Everyone expected a close game, and said Jo Byrns couldnt handle Cascades line, but the final score was 35-7. Both teams were 9-0, and both teams were tied for the region lead, so it was not only a chance for both teams to go undefeated, it was also a chance for both teams to win the region championship. That game had so much hype, and for us to come out and dominate, that was AWESOME!!!!!

1. The Franklin victory over Dickson County in Week 9. 7-6 overtime thriller!

2. Independence's come back against Franklin and Scott Pettigrew (spelling?) running all over Franklin.

3. Josh Day (spelling again?) setting the tone for the 5A championship on the opening kick-off with one of the nastiest hits I saw all year.

4. Logan Darnell of Goodpasture knocking the daylights out of a Lipscomb player in Week 0.

5. Jonathan Utley of Springfield taking out about 5 Portland players with one hit.

Knoxville Catholic vs. Fulton 3rd round of play offs. The score was 13 to 0. Approximately 9 minutes to go. The Fulton bench said "we can win this game." No panic! Less than one minute to go and marching behind 13 to 12. Dennis Rogan somehow made an unbelievable catch with an Irish player all over him. A few seconds left Dennis Freeny then made a more unbelievable one by catching a tipped ball laying in the end zone for the winner. Then Freeny made the tackle on the last play of the game on a diving tackle on a Catholic player with 5 Irishmen around him on the 25 yard line. What a high school game!!! :thumb:

Without a doubt:

1. When Garrett Golden blocked a punt in the 4th quarter of the Camden/Huntingdon game and then returned it for the winning score.

2. Playing Lewis co for the region championship...and winning for the first time in school history.

3. The way our fellow region fans talked smack on the T on Camden's behalf. We'll really miss some of you guys...some others, um not so much ;)

4. Seeing the Lions play with intensity every week regardless of the level of competition and really exemplifying the meaning of being a "team"...it was alot of fun every week and a priviledge to watch guys...THANKS

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
