I wasn't sure about hartsville. But what I said about Cannon is that they have only had one district win in 7 years. i know they have won games. Gaaa...

You obviously have no clue of what has been going on in this district, within the past 3 years. Hartsville in 7AA????? How old are you?

There defense looked impressive, but they had some offensive trouble.

So true. If Cannon Co. gets the offense rollin they will be hard to beat. The same thing happened at Macon Co. It was a higher scoring game than Dekalb, but when you hold a team to less than forty-five points, in my opinion, that should be an automatic win.

This is true! Also, if LA doesn't get it together by Saturday, they may be in trouble. If they play like they did last night, anyone in the district WILL beat them!

Disappointed OldFan? Don't be so quick to jump on the Cats. I'm sure they weren't too pleased with losing to Cookeville, but I'm guessing they'll be ready for anyone Saturday. They didn't play well at Cookeville but were probably due a bad game as they've won several in a row. Nothing like a gut check going into tourneys.

Anyone could win this district, but don't bash them so quickly after one loss.

The cats may have needed that reality check going into the tournament.

Upperman is going to be hard to beat, because it is at their house. They usually always have good crowds for their games, I can imagine they will be even bigger this week, and for the region. Good luck to SC, maybe they can come together. I just want a 7AA team to win this region, I'm sick of hearing about White House.

I am tired of hearing stuff like this. Yes it is fine to pull for your own district to win, but not just because you are tired of hearing about the other one being so good. You know why you keep hearing that? Because they are good and this district has not been able to beat them. It is the same way in baseball, this district has not won a region game in over 5 years. Maybe yall can win one in baseball now that Macon Co. has came back to this district, but off the baseball subject now. It is the same way in girls basketball for the other district, they have not been able to beat 7AA consistently. I dunno if they complain about hearing how good 7AA are like you guys are doing or not. All I know is if you want to be able to shut them up and win the region than you better hope Macon Co. does it because they are the only ones that have alot of experience playing against those more talented teams because they spent so many years in that district.

Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder. I am sure teams other than Macon County will give you something to worry about.

You are so wrong my friend. Just because Macon HAS played these teams in the past gives you no ground to say that they are the only ones who can beat teams in this region. There are teams just as good as and better than Macon Co. bud.

You all are the ones with the chip on your shoulder, you are tired of hearing about the other district becase there is a little bit of jealousy in there because you want what they got and that is winning the region consistently. And what do you mean teams other than Macon Co. will give me something to worry about? I am not going to have to play anybody, and I am not from 8AA anyways.

Ok I believe you are so badly mistaken here. I do believe we have won a game in the region in the last five years. As far as baseball goes, just look out for Livingston, Upperman, and Dekalb this year. you better watch those teams in basketball as well

No I am not mistaken. District 7AA has not won a game in the region tournament in the last 5 years. The last time they won a game in the region tournamrnt was in 2001 and that was the last time they did not have to play 8AA in the region. For proof of this you can go to: http://www.tssaa.org/2006Champions/2006Champs.htm and click on the years then go to baseball and then to the region brackets.

And for the part about look out for Livingston, Upperman, and Dekalb this year in baseball, yeah they will probably be ok, but Macon is still the team to beat in that district by far. Last year Macon Co. was supposed to have a down year from what they had been the last several and still finished 2nd in that district on a down year or you might say rebuilding year because they only had a couple players with any varsity experience prior to last year. They only lost 2 players, it is their district to lose.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
