QUOTE(TheOldScout @ Apr 30 2007 - 08:08 AM) 826448167I think if he does have a position it would be second and his lack of size and speed will keep him from playing outfield. His hitting is average, if he doesn't hit it any better than he did in the four games I saw him you can forget about it. Look at all the batting averages from Central, Polk, and Meigs they are very high so this should tell you something about this district and its pitching. Don't get me wrong I hope he goes and starts and gets drafted but I think the problem with too many of today's players is that they feel they have to go D1 no matter what school it is or they have not done anything. If it were my son I would send him to a good junior college to work on some of his weaknesses then move on to a good D1 baseball school. Let me end with this, I am sure Mr. Roberts feels his son has made the right decision and I wish him and Tyler all the best. They are good people and Tyler is a great student and young man and I mean no disrespect in my observation.

lack of speed? tyler is not real big at all but i think personally he is pretty quick

Is this the same "Tyler", that blew the sweetwater game!!!! No trash just facts.

Yep think that's the same one. One bad game early in the season, everybody has em. But he hasn't had a bad game since that. As i said Central and Meigs, shut down!!!. Get ready to get shut down again!!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

QUOTE(CRUTCHFIELD @ Apr 24 2007 - 01:38 PM) 826444236Alright, as much as I hate to give McMinn Central credit. Congratulations! Britt Shaw flat out shut Polk County down but ya know, as much as Coach Tripplett likes to refer to his small ball "JUNK", where was it? One time did they play small ball and they executed. Rose got on and Qualls laid down a great sac bunt. That was it. I saw no hit and runs, no double steals, no drag bunts!! Why not?? Bunt it to Starr 15 times and nothing against him he's a great kid, but I guarantee your on 10 of the 15. Another thing, I am not criticizing one bit, but does Tripplett not believe in a change???? Polk would be so much more better if Tanner Davis was in the outfield. The kid has SPEED. He has an ARM. He can catch a FLY BALL. If he hasn't saw that Tanner could be one of the best center fielders in our area something is wrong. And say who would play short? Matt Allen, with Steven Jackson going to 2nd.

Polk has a solid team when they make the plays. I predict the Cats to come out mad over last nights out come and they beat the Chargers and I heard that if its a tie, it goes to least runs allowed which would go to Polk. If it's a coin toss, you never know. 50-50 chance.

Good Luck boys.

Central's best third baseman plays first, and their best first baseman is the DH. I don't understand it, that's just the facts!! Central's best defensive alignment has played together on the field only rarely all season!!

Tyler is quick! There is a difference in being quick and fast. An outfielder needs flat out speed to go get it in the gaps especially at the D1 level. Most outfielders in college are tall, thin and run very effortless. I think second will be his position because he is short, quick and has good footwork.

Sorry that is crazy. Completely wrong there. #10 is the best at 3rd, had his moments, but no way the other compares. If anything the other needs to dh only. The weakest link for Central defensively is firstbase - with either one of the firstbasemen on the field. Neither one picks very well.

QUOTE(Butch & Sundance @ May 3 2007 - 08:28 PM) 826451166# 10 does ok at 3rd just needs to get in front of the ball sometimes. at 3rd all you need to do is get in front

of the ball knock it down and throw the runner out. Matt Allen from Polk showed everyone how to play 3rd

when Polk played at Central. Put your nose on the ball and play the game

IMHO Matt Allen is the defensive MVP for Polk he plays everywhere in the infield including catcher and is solid at each one. He is a class act and plays his heart out every game and from what I hear he is one of the best young men you could ever meet.

Allen had better start growing if he got any of yours, I know he didn't get his looks from you or his speed he is faster and better looking! LOL! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
