This game should be interesting. I know that Alcoa's young players have gotten better. And the first time these two games, was the first time CAK was playing without 2 of their usual starters who had season ending injuries against Webb the week before, so they were playing with new people in the position. Both teams should be improved. I believe if CAK can keep Hodge in check they will have a shot in this game. That is no easy task though. Maybe I should say make Alcoa pass it to beat them, because Cobb is like another RB. Thompson is a heck of a player, I just think that when the run game is succesful for any team it makes them tough to beat.

Good Luck to both teams, I would say whoever wins this game has a good shot at being in Murfreesboro, at least they wont be tested again until they get to the Semi Finals. DCA I have heard is a decent team this year.

Cant wait to see this one play out on the field. Good Luck to both teams.

What would Alcoa have to worry about from here to the Boro? Nobody can even line up with them, not even Maryville.

Please don't open that can of worms , we played Maryville and lost . We have a great team and Maryville has a great team and I don't think they will be tested untill the semis or at the Boro or maybe not even then . This is a thread about the Alcoa CAK game , we don't need a bunch of Maryville fans comin in here sayin how great they are . And btw ,I think this will be close for a quarter but then the flood gates will open , Alcoa by 21 +

After the scores from this weekend I truly believe that CAK Alcoa better come ready to play 2A football and score early and often. My top three as of today would be:

1. Alcoa

2. CAK

3.Milan

Goodpasture gave up way too many points to DCA this week, they couldn't stop Alcoa.

(please do not try to tell me how good the GP offense is, I'm not listening)

CPA nearly losing to a pretty bad Bledsoe Co. team (no disrespect) is not good.

Westview losing is a jaw dropper.

Huntingdon to make a run.

i agree with ya a little but i think lewis co is in the top 3.. here is how i see it 1.Alcoa 2.Lewis CO. 3.Goodpasture 4.Milan 5.CAK

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
