SP runs the wing T, correct?

Not just the wing T anymore...we run multiple variations of it and use several other formations. Most of our total runnings yards last night were up the middle against a very large FCS defensive front. If I recall, those guys only penetrated our front line a couple times resulting in a loss. Look out, the Pirates are coming....

Well... what can i say.. Its amazing that this is the SAME South Pitt I saw round one verus Gville a year ago.. I mean Gville beat them in every phase of the game... Maybe that beating was the best thing that coulda ever happened to them last year... Hats off to those kids for the strides they have made in a year...

On to the game.... You better believe South Pitt has revenge on there mind... and u combine that with the HIGH powered offense... and the stingy D.... not to mention playing on their home field.... How can you not say they are the favorites.. South pitt has big advantage in speed... but we can contain speed very nicely... What im really worried about is the size of some of our DBs... #21 could have a field day.... I seen some nice videos of him catching balls at the highest point on the times press website... South Pitt just scares me to death... They score so quickly and have so many threats...

Now if i sit here and said i think Gville has he better team id be lying... but Gville has one major advantage that no other 1A team has had all year... they know they can go into South pitt and WIN... they done it last year.... and didnt lose many peices to the puzzle.... I think Gville matches up better than ne 1a team they have played.... I think we can move the ball and put up some points... We have the ability to awnser quick if they do jump out fast..... On D... we cant give up the quick strikes... it takes so much out of you... 7-7 game could get ugly in the blink of an eye against Spitt.... Jus Bend but dont break D.... We jus gotta keep it close into the 4th... and #15 WONT let us LOSE...

Congrats to the Tigers. They executed their gameplan, and outcoached us.

Zone you should have no problem next week. Just play sound special teams, and dont make mistakes. Gv knows how to capitalize on mistakes. They contained the corners well, but we ran the inside very well. We moved the ball well, just coudnt score in the red zone. Robert should have a good game. They corners are physical, but the drag and slants are effective. Email me zone, ill give you a shout Friday night. jadguitar06@yahoo.com

Pretty much the same kids....a whole different TEAM. That has been the difference all year

The Lv fans really appreciated 56 grabbing his privates and shakin em at the crowd. Id like to see him do it to South Pitt.

Too bad from what i could see from my seat he didn't have any thing to be proud of /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Go Pirates make Region 3 proud. LV will be there in numbers to give our support to SP and Region 3. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Great win for the Pirates last night! I expected a better game, but SP just took it too them. Why FCA left Weatherspoon open so many times, I don't know. Anyway, I am looking forward to a great game next week. SP is improving every week and this is definitely the time for that! One thing that I don't understand is why people are leaving out the O-line and D-line. Our backs are good, but without blocking they can only do so much. The boys in the trenches have really played well against two good teams. And Tigers, we will run on the corners, just get ready! SP, keep up the good work and you might just bring the Golden Ball home this year. Gordonsville is a good team as we saw last year, but these Pirates have really matured and come together as a team since last year. I just don't see the Tigers stopping us with all the weapons we have on offense. Hats off to #24, #21, #2 and #5. Cody really had a good run last night. Last but not least, I am glad Bibbs is back. He played very well on defense last night. Enjoy the win boys, but get ready for business next week!

Oh yeah, even the lineman were FAST!!! SP is just a solid force at every angle. I'm still thinking "WOW what a good group of kids."

With that being said, I have to pull for our Gville neighbors next week. Gville's seen how SP handled FC & TC obviously hung in their better than we did. I'm sure that Gville will come up with a game plan. I know their boys will come ready to play & will play hard. Stay focused this week, anything can happen.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
