Mt Pleasant comes across the River. Who will Win?

MP is loaded in terms of atheletes and depth. People on here don't seem to understand that as they have picked against the tigers the last two weeks and they win rather comfortably both times. McKenzie might challenge the defense w/ that passing game, but MP has a good pass rush w/ a 6-5 230lbs defensive end with explosive speed. They have a 6-5 300lbs defensive tackle who can penetrate and has good speed. and the other stand up DE had four sacks in one game last year ( a great pass rusher ) Their linebackers are all experienced and make plays behind the LOS, Corlew all state caliber linebacker w/ two defensive touchdowns and he drills people in the open field. They do give up plays some though b/c they gamble too much. The secondary is small at some spots but they all have good speed. The D line is very strong for 1A. The defense has improved all year. I look for it to be closer than people think. MP has good atheletes at every skill position and the line is big and strong at every postion.

McKenzie will show them a different style though. It should be interesting.

Congrats to Mckenzie on their big win against TCA. Now, on to the game. Mckenzie will win this game by 2 to 3 touchdowns. Teams in Region 5 and 6 are not as strong as teams in Regions 7 and 8. The last 3 years the team that has represented Region 7 or 8 has beaten Mt.Pleasant and Jo. Byrns pretty handily. This year will be no different. Marco Daily will get his yards but it will not be near enough for Mt.Pleasant to win.Mckenzie will be the most balanced team that Mt.Pleasant has played this year. Jo.Byrns might be balanced but they are not Mckenzie balanced. Mckenzie is just a different animal this year and will probably win the state title. Good luck to both teams and let's hope for an injury free game. Go Rebels and make Region 7-A proud.

But all you posters must remember in the words of authoritative pundits.........MCKENZIE REBELS are OVERRATED and have been all year. How does this overrated team keep winning. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Stay hungry and focused Rebels....one game at a time.

GO REBELS!!!!

Wonder who the Jackson Sun will pick this week that their beloved Milan Bulldogs are getting ready for basketball?

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
