There is no question that Coach Bowling is a good coach, but an even better recruiter! Zach Caveness, OC starting QB going into the spring, is rumored to have already transferred. What a coincident!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two years in a row Bowling gets best players from OC. Something needs to be done!!!!

He's have to sit the bench a year anyway to wait for Colton Speed to graduate.

i see bowling and kennedy as men who care more about money than anything else. they took a talented dyersburg team and turned it into a boring dissapointment. i can't blame them alone. d'burg always tries to buy a gold ball. they needed a new coach last year and bought him and a qb. sadly ,you saw what they got. it's really what they deserved. i hope bowling and kennedy have much more success in uc, but if they are recruiting players then they are the snake oil salesmen they appeared to be at dyersburg

Yeah I do believe that some of the ole UC fans down the road talk a little trash themselves. I do not agree with Coach Bowling being bought along with his star players. I think any coach that can get players to move with him to another school is a heck of a coach. More power to the players, that is their choice. But dont down OC fans for talking trash cause I promise UC trash talking equals to it, or outweighs it. So the people out there who do talk the trash, act like you have a little class about yourself. Good luck to Union City and Coach Bowling!

I think we are about to findout how good these two coaches are. They don't have much to work with in a school whose best skill position type athletes play basketball now. This team MAY struggle to get third in 7-1a. Depends on what Gleason and Greenfield return and Lake County is always a wild card. This region will be a battle for 2nd.

I hope the rest of the region thinks this. Don't know where you get your information but this team will have more size and talent than last years team, easily.

The man's history is that of winning. He brought OC up to a competitive level for the time he was there. He got a bigger and better offer to coach somewhere else and took it. That town gave him one season of chance.

You ever think that maybe the players wanna follow a coach that made their currently faltering program into a once consistenty winning one. After all, he was 4-0 against UC.

Yeah,I believe you are right...Who will be second behind Union City??....

Seriously though...Things are about to change back to the way it was back in the day for this program...

And this program has athletes, don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise....

    • What you are saying is true about high school athletics being a privilege and not a right, but NO ONE ever knows what will happen if a case goes before a jury.  Again, I have been in a couple of jury rooms and it's always a little crazy.  That is why my prediction is you will see a settlement before the case goes to trial.
    • What rules does everyone not operate by?
    • So you want a have and have not split? Sound like the perfect ramp to elitism. Tell those rural kids that they'll never be able to compete with those urban kids. They're not good enough right? Or we could just do what travel baseball does and have tournaments every weekend and give kids big fake rings for winning a few games. The suburban public schools are typically the ones with more funds. Urban and rural schools have more in common in finances than they do with rural schools. I've taught and coached in all of it. The difference is attitude. But if you're jsut going to say you can't compete because you don't have the money then that's an excuse. Especially in basketball. The balls are the same size, the rims are the same height and size. The ball dribbles the same in some rural gym in mountains as it does in the FedEx forum. Charters come and go like a fart in the wind. They are no real threat to anyone. Magnets could be but rarely do they win either. It just hasn't been seen in Tennessee.
    • That’s a good line. Wins would be Soddy, Howard, and Ooltewah. Maybe East Ham again or Knox Central. Tyner maybe but being that late in the year it’s hard to say. I don’t think we get by Red Bank this year.    Rhea could be anywhere from 2-8 to 6-4.
    • I agree with the Farragut and Bradley claim. Those will both be wins. Bearden like you say is depending on when you get them in comparison to when the wheels fall off.  As far as West goes I’m 50-50. They have been able to reload so far so until they show me they haven’t I can’t count them out.
