putboobieincoach
Hello fellow CoachT members lol been a while... well im lookin for Harpeth to pull another 18-0 in the district again this year.. lol jk... nah it should be a toss up between the top four teams, should be a tight race this year... As for Mr. Andy Brown, well lets just hope that all the teams in the district do not chicken out and pitch around him by thinking one man can beat a whole team, there are eight other players on the field.. I also think he should join some old teammates down at C-State, along with ten members of the American Legion World Champions.. ha had to throw that in, the rings look nice lol... Good luck to everyone in the district.. Enjoy it P-Roy #3 good to here from you man hope everything is goin good in college. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

ksgovols
I thought they played pretty well in their first scrimmage. Johnson, Howell and Mangrum all looked pretty good in their first outing. The offense was nothing to write home about. Six hits in a 7 inning game? Ensworth didn't throw Foriest, who the Harpeth folks should know pretty well and they are a team of mostly sophomores. It was a good first scrimmage. Harpeth will need to hit better around Andy Brown and produce runs with small ball. I don't see 30 something homers in this year's team. Harpeth will win some 3-2 games this year with small ball, limiting walks and good defense.

For the first scrimmage, I don't think the play by the younger players was bad. They need to learn how to swing the bat more aggresively, but so do all of the players. I do know that Harpeth had way too many strike outs (especially looking). On whether or not the younger players will step up, it's their decision to do it. It will also take the upperclassmen to be a good example and step up as well. It is a new year with new players. Harpeth no longer has the big guns that they had last year. They are not going to hit homers every game, but they will win by out hustling and out thinking the other team in every dimension of the game. Will the young players step up? I think we will know for certain in the next 2 weeks, but I think they will.
