Antioch vs Seigel

Its a shame that your prized DE is going to measly UNC while ours is going to UT. All I meant was does Antioch run a break or more of a half court set, Siegel has good size also. I would love to see this stat they have 15 blocks a game. There is no way thats right.

My question is how effective will your prized DE be at UT? UT football swallows some of your great players alive. We know that McAdoo has the opportunity to make a splash immediately at UNC, will Mr. Hughes just be a special teams player for the big orange. Antioch wins this game on the basis of a strong team effort offensively, and that tenacious D.

Every time I saw Hughes play the last few years he was a beast and totally disrupted the other team's offense in football. I saw McAdoo play last fall also. The night I saw him he was not even on the level of Collins Ukwu (UK signee at DE) or even Travis Adkins (Tn Tech TE/DE signee)

Maybe it was just a bad night...but Antioch should still win this hoops game by10 or 15.

Didn't Hughes have 6 sacks and a blocked punt at Lebanon? I'm not a ut fan at all, but can recognize a can't miss player when I see one. The ironic part is if ut hadn't offered right at the end, I think one article said he would have ended up at Jacksonville State of the OVC. (1-aa)

There were some discipline issues that probably cost him some aggressive recruiting. He wasn't picked up til after the East West game. Remember he was kicked off the bball team last yr for discipline matters. He is a great talent, but truthfully I worry about him in the undisciplined environment at Ut

you're nuts....one Siegel will either win or keep it close and two Antioch isn't that good. don't get me wrong they a re a quality team but not better than 40 over Siegel! Antioch would finish this year second or third in 7-AAA this season, let em try to go to White County and play...ha. Go Siegel!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

No you didn't Starfan /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I usually agree with you, but the fact that you would compare Antioch to White County is negligent. I've seen White County three times, Siegel five times, and Antioch seven times this year, and I can tell you, athletically (and yes there is more to the game than athleticism)..............White County has one guy who could start on Antioch's team. ONE!

UNO!

1!

And that's just real talk. And the notion of this Antioch team, whose two losses are to out of state teams that were both ranked in the national Top 25 at one point this season would finish third in 7-AAA is just dead wrong.

I'm a 7-AAA guy these days and I could tell you that Antioch might have lost one road game in that district, tops.

I think people are buying into this typical Metro Nashville rag tag athlete thought process, and it just doesn't hold water. Jim Nollner is a Vet, this ain't Dolla Store Crowder coaching this team. He'll have his boys ready to go from the jump.

Siegel is going to have to play their best game and Antioch is going to have to chip in by playing poorly for the Stars to win. Cutter and Gooch and Hammonds are going to have to score about 55 points between them. I just think Siegel has to play too fast paced to win this game. They want to run, but Antioch thrives in that game.

The environment at UT is no different than players at every other SEC program. They just don't get the preferential treatment that other schools get. And I don't think it was behavior issues that cost him. Fulmer wasn't even aware of him until Shadowens recommended that he should take a look at him. He dominated his senior season mainly..thats another reason. Watson doesn't exactly help his players in recruiting...at all.

And starfan...just stop. Saying that is the most idiotic comment in this whole thread. White Station would have gone undefeated most likely in 7-AAA.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
