I dont see what the big deal is. Its a way for the kids to stay in the game. As long as they are encouraging their team and not saying things to the other team let them say what they want. Its not my style personally, but to say its disrespecting the game is a little much. Baseball is meant to be a joyous game. Let them express that joy in whatever manner they please. If you think it is a little girly then beat them like the girls you think they are. I know as a coach, I would rather have to calm my bench down every once in a while than beg them to get into the game. And think about this, if it bothered you enough to start this thread then you were probably thinking about it during the game last night. And if youre thinking about them cheering, then youre not thinking about whatever your responsibilities are.

it doesnt do anything to anyone other then get on their nerves

Sounds like it struck an ugly chord with you...

I'd suggest that while it is somewhat strange for the baseball team to act like the softball team, in no way is it considered disrespecting the game.

If the big leagues are the standard, then are using aluminum bats disrespecting the game?

Definitely agree with ya... but I can tell you since I was there and go to all the games....it's NO WHERE near softball cheering. It's your typical dugout getting loud and should definitely not been made that big of deal. But hey, it got a bulletin started and its entertainment I guess /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

I won't mention any specific schools, but have been to tournaments & games that seemed like they learned from or went to "girls softball" or cheerleading clinics !

I'm definitely not going to disagree with you there as I don't know all schools and I'm sure there are teams out there doing it. I just knew who they were talking about when they started the post and know it is no where near cheerleading. I don't have anyting against a school that might not be as loud, definitely when they are as good as they are, but there is also nothing wrong with a school being excited and loud in their dugout, especially when needed most and they are down. When things get loud towards specific players on the other team, they definitely need to be silented as that is MOST DEFINITELY unclassy. But not in this instance.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
