I'm Just a fan of the game an coacht. But every since that last horn went off in the boro they have been eating humble pie everyday. You guys just knew you were going to win. I race cars and when someone says fast and furious I think crash and burn. I am a fan of the team. What I saw from them that the coach had no control I could tell the way the players walked off the court, leaning back in the chairs just the small thing they needed to win to be a complete team.

Seems to me that you just miss the conversation from "WE CHOCTAW FANS" ! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Why else on Earth would you come up with this thread ! As for "Humble Pie" or "Crow" I 'll have to pass ! I have NEVER made a prediction on these boards in ANY SPORT no matter what point in the season or the opponent to be played. Rest assured one thing, Coach McCord is very much in control ! I guess you cold find a lot of your "complete teams" that were sitting as spectators at the Tournament. IMO nothing wrong with "Final Four" Appearances ! Especialy when it goes to "Double OT" ! As for leaning back in the chairs............... try runnin' with the Choctaws or FUlton for 32 minutes ! You might be layin' on the floor beggin for oxygen ! Sit up straight & You'll be STATE CHAMPIONS ! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Sorry that you miss us ! There are a bunch of houses for sale in Dyer County ! COme on down ! Bet you'd look good in ORANGE ! As for the "KNEW WE WERE GONNA WIN" !?!?!? NOPE ! But if you don't EXPECT to win there's something wrong with your attitude ! D.C. will be back ! I don't remember a basketball season that I enjoyed any more other than my daughter's team that went 33 - 1 ! WE'RE JUST PROUD OF OUR CHOCTAWS ! ALL PLAYERS ! ALL SPORTS ! SUPPORTERS (MOST) ! CHOCTAW NATION ! As Adsmom would say "get over yourself" ! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I've never made a prediction about Dyer County either! Yeah those "complete teams" such as....UHMMM... Liberty was sitting at home or in the stands watching the State Tournament! I guess Liberty should sit up straight in their chairs so they can win another state championship... Am I right? GO CHOCTAWS! Everything is still great in CHOCTAW NATION! We will be fine even though we didn't take the gold ball! But at least the team that beat us in the "Final Four" in the past 2 years has won the state championship!

What does liberty have to do with this they won state twice. don't compare a team that has won to your team. Who cares about a team that lost in the semi-final. Well you can always say you made it to the boro.

Ok I'll compare my team to the Boston Celtics they haven't won yet!!! I care who lost in the "Final Four"! If you watch college basketball you can probably tell me the "Final Four" even if they didn't lose so everyone cares for their team!!! As adsmom said we can compare to anyone we want to! Want to know why? IT'S A FREE COUNTRY!!!!

Being an Obion County alum, history would tell you I am NOT a Dyer County fan /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> , I can see where both sides are coming from. Dyer County aren't unlike any other fans in the area, they bleed orange like I bleed blue and red, but they also usually only show this when the teams are winning, just like most fans in the region. This isn't a knock on DC fans, but most fans in general. I have never liked people that stop supporting their teams simply because they aren't performing to the levels of the past. Trust me I have been through a few rough years in the past with my Rebels, as have the Choctaws before the 06-07 season, but I stuck with those boys because I knew they were trying. Maybe this is some peoples' reasoning for disliking DC fans IDK?

In response to the "whiny coach" accusation of Coach McCord. I can't say I personally know the man, but from watching many a high school and college games in person, I can say that he does seem to come off as arrogant and bragadocious. For instance, the game between DC and Central in Troy, near the end of the game, DC was up a sizeable amount and still pressing, which I disagree with the starters still being in and the press still being on completely but that's a different story, Cory Gibson pivoted and caught CJ Crittendon with an elbow to the jaw. Maybe he came around a little tougher than necessary, but I saw nothing dirty about the play at all and would think most fans for both sides would agree. Anyways, Coach McCord storms all the way across the court to confront the officials instead of checking on his player, whereas in any other situation with any other coach I feel like he would have been tossed. I understand this wasn't under his control, but it just rubbed me a wrong way from a fan's POV. He seemed to flaunt the fact that he could do this, and the fact that he left his starters in in other instances when up a decent amount just didn't send a good signal my way.

Now I am NOT trying to get any DC fans or anyone else riled up, I only thought I would shead an outside light on the circumstances being discussed.

Ok... I'm not riled up from what you said, but you need to understand why he was upset! I was at that game and I agree that in wasn't on purpose that he caught CJ but the reason he was upset was that the same sort of thing happen at Dyer County the game before against Dyersburg which caused one of his players to have to sit out 2 games!

beavo, why was CJ in at the point during the game? He did say "Dyer Co. was up towards the end with a sizeable lead"....kind of like the DC/GC game where you beat us 104-50 and Justin Blake was still in there with 3-4 minutes left in the game. Things like that are awaiting injuries... I believe in the GC game Coach McCord was just wanting to break the 100 point mark knowing he could. Your going to say why should we slow down, ya'll should stop us from scoring etc... Well to be honest, we COULDN'T stop you from scoring but there is something called sportsmanship and it obviously wasn't shown.

as for this thread being started...it's pretty stupid. Dyer Co. went further than any other AA team in rural West went. They obviously represented 13AA, 7AA, and West TN very well.

Obion's girls coach's behavior kinda rubbed me the wrong way when they played at Dyer County /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ......he was upset for many of the same reasons you stated about McCord BUT he had to be escorted off the court by police.Covington's coach blew a gasket ((security guards and police)), BTW's flipped a lady off in the stands.....all this rubbed me the wrong way. McCord is very well liked around here...because he truly wants what is best for the players in the long run. Everytime I have ever spoken to him he has been nothing but complimentary about his team. He is obviously a good coach from looking at his record pre-DC. Guy who started the thread HAS STILL never answered the question of where he is from. Success breeds hatred......that my friends is the truth. IF DC had 2 losing seasons in a row this topic WOULD have never been brought up. I mean give me a break....course it wouldn't have.

It was 4 minutes and Coach was switching everyone in and out during the game and DC did break 100 that night too! And I agree that sometimes Coach should rest his starters! As for sportsmanship that is an opinion... some could say that it isn't sportsmanlike or some could say that it is a compliment to that team that they are worried the other team could come back on the bench! And you are also correct that this thread is stupid!
