And back in the day, no rivalry was any bigger than when the Alnwick Cardinals and the Bungalow Jets squared off. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Too bad most of those guys are playing in the BC Penal league.... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

your calling the heritage fans classless. well lets see. #54 Eric Costner team captain of the heritage squad goes down with an injury in the second quarter with the score 7-6. after being worked on while still on the sidelines eric is carried off to the training room for further evaluation. when a chant starts saying "where did you go hide 54" if you ask me that is pretty classless, and as i saw late in the third or early in the fourth it was a young man from farragut that hit heritage center in the back as he was standing up after the play and got a 15 yard penalty. so how is that for a class act.

You are correct about one thing Heritage is physical but dirty is absolutly not true. Farragut is the team that had two unsportsman like penalties. As for the refs, I thought was pretty fair. Heritage got away with a few and so did Farragut. The fans for Heritage have never been called classless and I really don't think you should be the one to start such a rumor. Your post speaks for it's self come on thats about as classless as you can get. These are kids playing a game you probably couldnt.

Or we could loan you McGlothlin, Tallant, and Hartley /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

You can keep Hartlley and Mcglothlin but we would take Tallent back in a heartbeat. The kid is injured and still has more HEART and talent than any QB in the county. If he can stay healthy he will do great things for Alcoa if given the chance.

Heritage players are routinely, ROUTINELY, complimented by officating crews from several venues for keeping their mouths shut and walking away from confrontations with idiots who can't stand the fact that they are getting pushed around. THAT is the reputation of Mountaineer players. If you have issues with the fans, take it up with them, since you're in the stands with them. Leave the players out of it. Every one of them has more heart and class than any ten players from most of the teams they face.

Friendsville's gym was big of course cause it was the high schools. But after that, Alnwick was probably the biggest county elementary gym by far. Binfield was one of the smallest. Other tiny ones included my alma mater, Bungalow; Chilhowee View; Forest Hill; Rush Strong ... oh year, another "large" one at the time would have been Fairviews.

I'm showing my age, but many a good game occurred in the "huge" Basil Elementary gym.

Mondays Freshman and JV game Heritage vs Farragut should be pretty good. Laste year Farragut Freshman beat Heritage on a late score so the JV game should be pretty exciting. Heritage has a pretty good freshman team this year. Lead at QB by Matt Plummer, and one of the more exciting running backs Chase Cline. They have some good hands at wide out with Justin Newman and Casey Law. The defense is led by Chris Wood @ linebacker and Luke Eldridge at noseguard.

But don't know anything about Farraguts freshman. If anyone has any info, I would like to hear it. .

Should be a full week of of some hard nosed football with Maryville coming in on Friday.

Maryville better be ready to play and not overlook Heritage. There is not a team on this planet earth that Heritage would rather beat than Maryville. Heritage is much improved this year. Heritage will be really fired up this coming friday.

I believe the 1st half will be very close. Maryville will pull away in the 2nd half and win 28-10.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
