I just would like to know why Ooltewah lost to Maplewood if they are doing this to Farragut.

We had no offense in that game at all. Everything was out of sync and we couldn't pass at all so they did a really good job of stopping the run. And we screwed up on the game tying PAT. They scored due to our mistakes that game... bad special teams coverage and an INT I believe.

But to Maplewood's credit - they had a really, really good run defense. And they fumbled twice in our territory so our mistakes about evened out (they were there all night though due to our crappy offense and bad field position).

Two things funny about this , One , I guess the Amirals were overlooking Ooltewah and was fired up about stopping Maryville's streak next year /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> ..... ya gotta laugh at the arrogant Admirals that have come out of the closet this year , and Two , the " Fire Coach Monroe " Owls . Some of the bashing of your coach this year has been unreal , nobody at Ooltewah knows what it's like to even play in a state championship game , unlike your coach who has been there several times , yet the bashing of this legendary coach by your own fans has been pathetic . I could go back and find some of the more ignorant posts , but it's just not worth my time . I guess after dominating the supposed #1 5A team in the state , you Monroe bashers look really brilliant now .

Oh , actually a third funny thing occured to me , good thing some of us little ol 4A schools don't have to play those Scary Big Boys In 5A ..... LOL /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Yeah - it was really ridiculous what some of the Monroe haters were saying. Did he call a bad game against Maplewood? Probably so, but part (a big part) of that was due to what he has on offense and the execution of his players. He was forced to keep running when there was nothing there because every time we stepped backed to pass something bad happened (not just on Reed - he was pressured a lot in that game and when he did throw a catchable pass the receivers let him down a few times).

Hey give me the readers digest version... Just got back from WB.. We lost 13 to 7...

Total domination by the D-line tonight. Smith was a beast as usual and #34 had a good game as well. When we blitzed 1 or 2 LBs as well it was over. The QB was hit and hit hard so many times. And of course you won't be able to run against our defense. I think Farragut had 0 rushing yards until we put the backups in.

We also picked off two passes from pressuring him so much (and several dropped ones right in the bread basket hah).

On offense we scored so much off pinning Farragut deep and making them punt at their 20 and closer so we started on the 50ish most of the night and ran the ball well and Brady managed the game well (no picks and threw a nice TD pass). We had over 200 rushing yards tonight I believe. Polk was a beast with 2-3 TDs. We never really had a drive more than 50 yard or so I don't believe. Our longest scoring drive was around 3 minutes.

because this is the first game the Owls QB threw a half way decent pass and all they usually do is run the ball.........they looked really balanced tonight and look at what happened. i ve been saying it all year BALANCE ATTACK and it worked like a charm.

Thanks bassman

I thought the Admirals could get in trouble down there. I didn't think it would go that bad... Defense...Field position.. Ball control with the running game.... The Admirals worst nightmare came true ... congradulations owls

Yeah - it was really their worst nightmare. They're coach went psycho and got himself ejected I guess after he thought his QB was roughed (didn't really see the play that well). Then the Farragut players in the huddle started pushing and shoving later on about to start a fight between each other down 31-3 in the last 12 minutes. They just couldn't do anything on offense.

I have nt seem the tape yet but was that a late hit on the QB or not?? I just saw him laying on the ground and caught the tail end of it but i thought it was clean hit.........Farragut coach acted like a idiot and got kicked out after getting 2 flags thrown on him, i understand taking up for your players but that was a little over board. What really got me was what he did when he made a special effort (WITH A POLICE ESCORT) walked straight across the field to the Owls head coach and gave Owls coach the thumbs up and then blew him off.

I don't think that's what he was saying with the hand gestures. Atleast not according to the CSS announcers. They were saying he meant it was a sign of respect and it wasn't anything against Benny - just that he was sticking up for his players. That was my initial thought as well... but I'm not sure.
